The name “Mirella” has its origin in the composition of the italian words “ammirare” and “bella” – which means “admire” and “beautiful”. According to the label’s name, the goal is to create unique admirable and beautiful jewellery. Each statement-piece is handcrafted and therefore unique – some of them are even embellished with Swarovski Crystals.

When did you launch the brand and what was the reason behind it?
I have been working on this brand (in the beginning as a hobby) since 2007, but the real launch of my brand was in 2015.
Whats your background?
My parents are both in the creative business, my father is a graphic designer and my mother is a painter, so you can say I always had a thing for creativity. And as for my academic education, I graduated university with a master’s degree in theatre, film and media studies.
How many people are involved in the company and what are their roles?
My company is a one woman business.
If you could start over with the business, would you do anything differently?
With knowing what I know now, I would do things quicker. But that’s easy said now. Looking back I needed the time to figure everything out, because I had really no idea and no one to help.
What is the hardest challenge you have faced since you started the company?
To reach the right people for my brand. It’s not very easy to draw attention to a small business and new brand on the market.
Tell us one fact about you that people wouldn’t know?
I’m obsessed with Dachshunds.
To date, what has been the highlight since launching?
Getting an mail from Vogue. And realising how many people appreciate my designs!
Which city do you feel most at home in, London, Paris or New York?
Three beauty products you can’t leave the house without?
Mascara, lip balm and hand cream
To complement your features.
Best thing about London to you?
If you had to, what piece of clothing from your wardrobe would you wear everyday?
Favourite love song?
I just can’t stop loving you by Michael Jackson
Most memorable piece of advice given to you?
It sounds corny, but to believe in yourself and never give up – it’s easier said than done.
Sugar. Most likely cakes, desserts or chocolate.
If you could spent 24 hours in anywhere in the world, where would it be?
This depends on my mood, as of right now, I would love to be on a beach.
In future, how do you plan on expanding the company?
I want my brand to be known more globally.
