If you’re looking for the ultimate day out in London, then Knightsbridge is the place to be. With its upscale vibes and world-renowned stores, Knightsbridge is the go-to destination for a day of sheer indulgence. We went on a 24 hour tourist hop of Knightsbridge, including the iconic Harrods and Harvey Nichols. So, strap in and come with us for a day of lavishness!

First Stop: Harrods

We couldn’t have a luxury day in Knightsbridge without visiting world famous Harrods. Setting foot in this iconic department store feels like entering an exquisite palace of opulence. With its grand architecture, dazzling window displays, and luxurious interiors, Harrods is a shopaholic’s dream come true.

Packed with fashion-forward designer collections covering all bases from
on-trend streetwear to haute couture, Harrods has it all. You can browse through the latest fashion pieces from top luxury brands like Dior, Gucci, Chanel and Louis Vuitton to name but a few. Whether you’re in the mood for a chic outfit for a night out or a statement piece for your Instagram feed, Harrods has something to suit your style.

This eminent store isn’t just about fashion though. As you wander through its hallowed halls, you’ll also find an endless array of premium beauty products, fine jewellery, exquisite homewares, and gourmet treats. Treat yourself to a luxe beauty haul with high-end skincare from La Mer or indulge in a piece of fine jewellery from Tiffany & Co. And don’t forget to check out the famous Harrods Food Hall, a haven for foodies, where you can sample delectable delights from around the globe.

Harrods is also home to critically acclaimed dining offerings. From the famed ground floor foodhall all the way to the top with the latest jewel in the crown – Norwegian fusion fifth floor restaurant Studio Frantzén.

To say our leisurely lunch there was perfection would be doing it a great injustice. It has rocketed to one of my favourite ever London lunches, and there’s some fierce competition in that category, let me tell you!
What they can do with fried brocolli and pork belly is the stuff of legends.

We started off enjoying the custom made roof terrace, our champagne bubbles glowing in the spring sunshine against the backdrop of the London skyline. We chose our food there and then were escorted to the restaurant downstairs when it was ready as we wanted to soak up the decadence indoors for the main event and enjoy the buzzy atmosphere around the vast open plan kitchen.

The theatrical presentation of the food only adds to its delectable excellence. We feasted on a curation of grilled oysters (the smoked butter sauce was inspired!), roasted cauliflower with black winter truffle, grilled guinea fowl, salad ‘bonito cesear’ and the signature Sweden vs Japan dish – braised beef brisket, grilled Japanese Wagyu, lemongrass jus & Japanese mustard.

Accompanied by deep-fried Hasselback potato with whipped browned butter & cream cheese and Charred broccolini with eel sauce, mint & Thai basil, I can honestly say this was one of the most flavoursome meals we had ever had the pleasure of. Each dish and morsel was a new discovery of flavour fusions, deep layered textures and a purity of ingredients that Chef Patron Björn Frantzén is renowned for.

I can’t neglect to mention the unique hand painted Morakniv knives by artist Pernilla Nordman. A unique touch and a wow moment which is just a drop in the ocean of the attention to detail at Studio Frantzén
I cannot recommend this restaurant any more highly, please indulge yourself, thank me later!

Drybar: Harrods Blow Dry Bar

After our immersive culinary experience, we dropped down 5 floors to indulge in some pampering at Harrods exclusive hair salon, Drybar, to select a style from their extensive menu of options.
A glass of bubbly and the only head massage I’ve ever actually enjoyed later, our locks were being teased and styled to get date night ready.

I loved my big bouncy blow which miraculously held in my long locks the entire night, such was the skill from Sabrina, my stylist.
What struck me the most from the chats with both of our stylists was the cameraderie among the staff, that team spirit certainly spills over into the atmosphere and envelops the client in positivity.
We also loved their range of Drybar products they use exclusively, so light and highly effective.

Harvey Nichols

After our glow up it was time to continue our luxury day out with a visit to another Knightsbridge institution – Harvey Nichols. This upscale department store is known for its cutting-edge fashion and beauty, it’s a must-visit destination for any fashionista.

However, let’s not forget about Harvey Nichols’ home and lifestyle offerings. You can browse through unique home decor pieces and stylish touches to elevate your living space to new heights of luxury. From elegant dinnerware to luxurious bedding, Harvey Nichols has everything you need to make your home a haven of opulence.

After a shopping spree at Harvey Nichols, you can head to one of its on- trend restaurants for an epicurean dining experience. With options ranging from fine dining to casual eateries, Harvey Nichols offers a variety of culinary delights to satisfy your taste buds. You can enjoy a delicious meal prepared by world-class chefs, sip on artisanal cocktails, and soak in the chic atmosphere of the restaurant or head over to Burger & Lobster for a more casual vibe.

We love a roof terrace as much as you do, so headed to the top floor terrace and had an elegant evening sipping cocktails and grazing on small plates whilst soaking up the ambience. What a fashionable way to kick off your weekend.

Other activities to stimulate your senses in this neck of the woods, we would recommend taking in a visit to The ARX gallery on Brompton Road which is host to a diverse international programme of multi sensory solo and collaborative exhibitions from up and coming names and established icons such as Damien Hirst & Tracey Emin. It is open to the public Fridays & Saturdays or for private appointments at other times.

Get your nature kicks right in the heart of London and take a stroll in Hyde Park, one of London’s most iconic and beautiful spaces. You can explore this sprawling expanse in style, whether it’s by renting a bike, rollerblading, or simply taking a leisurely walk.

Hyde Park offers a range of activities for outdoor enthusiasts, including boating on the Serpentine Lake, playing sports on the vast green lawns, or purely relaxing and enjoying the natural beauty of the park.

A day in Knightsbridge is simply not enough, but it’s a great start!
