Where is the 25Hours Hotel Indre By Copenhagen?
Just a short walk from the city’s Nørreport train station, 25Hours Hotel Indre By is in one of the most central locations you can stay in when visiting Copenhagen, it is within steps of Kobmagergade, one of the vibiest streets in the city and where you can find cosy cafés, great restaurants, and lively bars as well as an impressive selection of boutiques. 25Hours Hotel Indre By is also very close to one of Copenhagen’s most famous landmarks, the Round Tower.
If you have got that all-important picture of the colourful buildings that line the charming waterfront of Nyhavn on your things to do in Copenhagen hit list, then you won’t have to travel very far from the hotel to enjoy the colourful smorgasbord of brightly-coloured buildings. The harbour is also home to restaurants, bars and a couple of boat tour operators. It is a little expensive there (even for Copenhagen!) but there are other equally great places to enjoy a coffee or a smørrebrød nearby.
Quirky touches at the 25Hours Hotel Indre By
The 25Hours Hotel Indre By Copenhagen is comparable to a tardis; it’s infinitely a lot bigger than first impressions give, especially when you are heading over to your room. Ours was at the front of the hotel overlooking the cobbled streets, but it was a bit of a mission to get to the room, which wasn’t a problem as we needed to work off all the free chocolate and nuts that were stocked daily in our free minibar.
A free minibar is always one for the win and is a lovely gesture from the hotel who were always happy to add some delicious treats (including beer) to our minibar. In total, there are 243 rooms throughout the hotel, all of which have a classic Danish influence and a whimsical vibe.
The rooms at 25Hours Hotel Indre By Copenhagen
The rooms come in two different themes, passion and knowledge, and our room was a large room with a cosy bed, seated area, and a large walk-in shower. The Knowledge rooms are scattered with intriguing artefacts that reference the work by scientists like Charles Darwin. The layout was similar to the 25Hours Florence in Italy that I have previously stayed in. And whilst the room was the perfect base for chilling out in after a busy day’s sightseeing, one of the best things about the 25Hours Hotel Indre By Copenhagen are the fantastic communal areas.
Culture at the 25Hours Hotel Indre By Copenhagen
Culture is at the heart of the 25Hours Hotel Indre By Copenhagen, but it doesn’t take itself too seriously. There’s a real sense of playfulness threaded throughout. This is in evidence before you even enter the hotel’s entrance which is flanked by two regal columns with a sign on the front saying ‘We will never grow up’.
As House of Coco’s Music Editor, I naturally gravitated toward the impressive vinyl library which has a great record player, a varied selection of records to spin, and some slouchy chairs to relax upon. This along with the funky Rendezvous bar area was a great place to chat to the staff and get some helpful restaurant recommendations as well as to get to know the other guests.
Across from the vinyl lounge was a hygge-inspired lounge with a roaring fire where you can sit back and relax or even do some work should this be required. You can sit by the fire and relax with one of the books from the hotel’s Love library or pay a visit to 25Hours Hotel Indre By’s handy boutique shop.
A love letter to the spirit of Copenhagen
Throughout the hotel, there are aesthetic nods to the city and the themes of passion and knowledge. For example, you can sit down in front of a typewriter (old school!) and type out a letter. There are bicycles dotted around paying homage to Copenhagen’s love of whizzing around the city on two wheels and other quirky but very Insta-worthy pieces.
The attention to detail on the hotel’s decor is second-to-none, and it’s easy to fall in love with the playful decor which is executed perfectly from the sculptural tables to the retro-tastic lamps. Art (which ties in with the themes of knowledge and passion handily!) is an omnipresent theme throughout the hotel. There are over 110 pieces of artwork dotted about the hotel which ties in with the overriding theme ‘Coming of Age’ in an intriguing and captivating way.
Wellness at the 25Hours Hotel Indre By Copenhagen
If you want to keep up with your wellness whilst visiting Copenhagen, why not take advantage of the hotel’s outdoor sauna which is housed in a typically Danish wooden building. There are cold showers and even an ice bath that you can use, but we chose not to do so (it being December after all!) Inside the sauna was contemporary and spacious and even with quite a few people in it, felt light and airy.
There’s also a small gym that you can take advantage of, but truthfully, all the exercise you need is walking the cobbled streets of this charming city. 25Hours Hotel Indre By also can provide bikes to hire free of charge, should you wish to do as the Danish do. Walking is the best way to see the sights of Copenhagen, but if you get a Copenhagen Card, you can take advantage of free transportation throughout the city (which includes the metro from the airport to downtown Copenhagen). Or why not enjoy a coffee in the hotel’s Secret Garden?
25Hours Hotel Indre by — breakfast and beyond
Eating out in Copenhagen can be expensive, so it’s definitely worthwhile adding breakfast to your booking at 25Hours Hotel Indre By as this is a great way to fill up before you head out to explore the city. We didn’t eat there at dinner, but the breakfast was a wonderful way to start the day. As a coeliac, they were able to accommodate my dietary requirements, and there’s a wide variety of options to select from the hotel’s breakfast buffet.
Sustainability is a huge focus for the 25Hours brand, and every effort is made to use natural products and ingredients and repurpose furniture and accessories to give it a new life and purpose.
