For design fans: Decorex International, 6-9 October

The leading design show, Decorex International will make its debut at Olympia London this year. Offering a showcase of the very latest in high-end design, a speaking programme and curated exhibitions, the annual gathering attracts the leading names in luxury interiors from across the world.

New for 2019 is a boundary-pushing collaboration that takes visitors on a journey through a series of interconnecting spaces for an immersive encounter. Each area will be beautifully created by a selection of top international interior designers and overseen by one of the UK’s leading architects.

For Nordic culture fans: Ja Ja Ja festival, 8-9 November

Some of the biggest names in Nordic music and culture are set to perform at a new two-day event at London’s Roundhouse. Ja Ja Ja festival will feature new Nordic, a Nordic record label market, plus visual art exhibitions from Icelandic artists Örvar Smárason and Sindri Már Sigfússon. Film buffs should make sure they visit on the Saturday for documentaries curated by Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival.

And for anyone wondering, ‘ja’ means ‘yes’ in most Nordic countries.

For Halloween fans: Festival of the Dead, until 16 November

A unique combination of carnival, circus and clubbing inspired by the art of the Day of The Dead celebration, Festival of the Dead will visit cities up and down the UK, including London, Newcastle, Manchester and Bristol. Expect giant skull processions, acrobats, dancers, beautiful decorative art and costumes.
