Top Wellness Essentials for January: Inside Aqua Sana spa

Switch off at Aqua Sana

Aqua Sana Forest Spas have seen a 42% surge in Gen Z visitors, as younger guests increasingly prioritise rest, mindfulness, and digital downtime. With work-life boundaries blurring and burnout on the rise, Gen Z are now investing more in wellness experiences than older generations, seeking spaces where they can genuinely switch off.

I experienced this first-hand during a visit to Aqua Sana Woburn with my teenage daughter. It was the perfect chance for both of us to step away from our phones, move through the saunas and steam rooms at our own pace, and enjoy a full-body massage. After a nutritious lunch in the spa restaurant, we tried a sound healing session — part of Aqua Sana’s Discovery Wellness Workshops, giving guests an easy way to try something new.

With five forest-based locations across the UK and experiences available from age 14 upwards, Aqua Sana is tapping into a growing trend for teen-friendly wellness. Each spa is a smartphone-free sanctuary designed to soothe the senses, restore balance, and remind us how transformative even a short digital detox can be — a great addition to our January wellness edit.

OQO hydration

Rehydrate and Recharge

OQO Hydration Plus in Green Apple is designed to help you rehydrate and recharge fast, making it ideal for busy days, workouts, or travel. The blend combines essential electrolytes including sodium, potassium, and magnesium to replace what’s lost through sweat and keep your body in balance — earning its place among our wellness essentials for January.

It also includes BCAAs alongside vitamins B6 and B12 to support sustained energy release and muscle recovery. Simply mix with water for a crisp green apple hit that boosts hydration and helps fight fatigue, making daily wellness that little bit easier.

Available from DISO, RRP £23.99

The M&S Nutrient Dense range

Boost your Nutrition

As part of our wellness essentials for January, and with 96% of the UK not meeting daily fibre recommendations, M&S Food has launched its new Nutrient Dense range comprising of 20 salads, meals, snacks, and drinks crafted to pack maximum vitamins, minerals, and fibre into every bite. Developed with in-house nutritionists and the British Nutrition Foundation, each product contains at least one key micronutrient many of us are lacking, from vitamin D to iron and B12, while still being calorie-controlled and carrying the M&S Eat Well seal.

I’ve been sampling my way through the collection including collagen shots, a delicious Nutty Super Salad, Beetroot & Feta Salad, Satay Chicken, the Berry Bliss Bowl, and the new H₅O shot. Everything I tried was genuinely tasty, filling, and ideal for on-the-go days when you want a nutritious lunch without thinking too hard.

From high-fibre seeded bread to protein-packed grain pots and colourful salads, the Nutrient Dense range makes it far easier to hit the recommended 30g of fibre a day, something M&S says is increasingly important, especially for those with lower appetites or using weight-loss medication. Available from 5 January 2026, it’s a simple, great-tasting way to boost your nutrition without sacrificing flavour.

Pink Grapefruit Paloma mocktail

The Dry January Saviour

If you’re embracing Dry January but still want something a little more exciting than sparkling water, Belvoir Farm makes it easy to shake up bar-worthy mocktails at home. Now the UK’s No.1 mocktail range, their bottles are packed with real fruit juices, botanicals, and a gentle fizz — so you get all the flavour of a cocktail with none of the faff (or alcohol).

This winter sees the launch of the Pink Grapefruit Paloma, joining Lime & Yuzu Mojito, Peach Bellini, and Raspberry Margarita. All you have to do is twist the top, pour into a nice glass, and add a garnish. It tastes like something you’d happily order at a bar — ideal for hosting, dressing up a night in, or just adding a bit of sparkle to an alcohol-free evening. Perfect for Dry Jan, but just as good year-round.

Front cover of the Self-care journal

Your Self-Care Wellness Essential for January

If you’re leaning into small, simple habits to boost your wellbeing this year, the Self-Care for Every Day Journal (£12.99) is one of those wellness essentials for January that helps self-care stick. Self-care may be essential for both mental and physical health, but it’s usually the first thing to slip when life gets busy. This journal helps bring it back into focus with gentle prompts, practical tips, and reflective exercises designed to make wellbeing a daily ritual rather than an afterthought.

Whether you’re new to journalling or returning to it, the structure makes it effortless to build consistency  — spend just a few minutes a day to check in with yourself, release stress, and stay grounded. It’s a simple tool, but one that can make a real difference in how you rest, reset, and look after yourself.
