Another highlight was ChomSindh, a love letter to Thai seafaring cuisine. Here I enjoyed chicken stir-fry, beef cheek green curry, and of course, the classic mango sticky rice—it was a cultural immersion with every bite.

For more casual bites, Amaya Food Gallery served as a vibrant court of flavours, where I could sample dishes from across Asia, with live cooking stations adding energy and flair. From wok-tossed noodles and papaya salad to a variety of cuisines from across the globe served up at breakfast.

There are so many things to do in Bangkok; one of the most memorable activities was the EV Tuk Tuk Experience—a sustainable reimagining of Thailand’s iconic tuk tuk. Cruising through Bangkok’s streets in this electric ride felt futuristic yet rooted in tradition. Stops include places that Bangkok is famous for, such as the Erawan Shrine, Siam Square, the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, and a captivating tour of the Jim Thompson House, the home of Thailand’s legendary Silk King.

To counterbalance Bangkok’s buzz, I took a canal tour revealing the peaceful local rhythms of life along the water. I watched as locals fished, cooked, and chatted on wooden porches—a snapshot of old Bangkok, still thriving amid the metropolis. Leaving Bangkok felt like stepping out of a crazy dream. A short flight later, from Bankgok to Phuket airport, I arrived in Khao Lak, and the mood changed entirely. An underrated side of Phuket, here, life flows at half-speed, and time is measured not by appointments but by tides.

For nature lovers, Khao Sok National Park is a must—with its ancient rainforest, elephant encounters, and dramatic lakes.

One morning at 7am, I walked along the picturesque Khao Lak beach and caught sight of a rainbow arching across the sea—a pure, silent moment of wonder. The air smelled of salt and frangipani, and the only footprints in the sand were mine. These are the moments, of pure bliss, that will be treasured forever and can often only be experienced in serene hideaways like The Sarojin.

Back at the resort, the Pathways Spa delivered the best massage I’ve ever had. Lavender-scented oils, the sound of waves, and intuitive touch combined to create the sensation of floating. I emerged lighter, both in body and spirit. At The Edge restaurant by the beach, I indulged in banana flower salad, tofu satay, and a beautifully plated massaman curry served in individual compartments, each element designed with precision and care. To end the meal, mango sticky rice provided the perfect bridge between my city experience and these tranquil shores—a sweet echo of Thailand’s rich culinary tapestry.
