My Personal Experience of Passing Red Hat EX200 Exam and Using Prepaway Prep Materials

Red Hat EX200 is an exam that measures the skills and knowledge of a candidate in the areas of system administration that are common across a very wide range of deployment scenarios and environments. This test is a requirement for one to earn the RHCSA certification. If you are looking to become an RHCE or Red Hat Certified Engineer, you must first earn RHCSA. Therefore, this means that you can only become an RHCE if you have passed the Red Hat EX200 exam.

The skills and knowledge tested in Red Hat EX200 are the basis for the system administration throughout all the Red Hat products. When you receive the RHCSA certificate, which you can get only after passing this test, it means that you have the core system-administration knowledge and skills needed in the Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments PrepAway.biz.

Having passed the Red Hat EX200 exam with flying colors, I thought it wise to share my experience with you. I hope that it will give great inspiration. I have also decided to share my personal experience of passing this exam and using Exam-Labs resources because I want to show you the tips and preparation materials I used to excel in it.

My personal preparation tips

Prepaway Red Hat EX200 is not a difficult exam to pass provided you have a clear plan for your study approach.
Here are some of the tips I used. I do hope that they are going to be as helpful to you just like they were to me.

Check out the exam objectives

I meant it when I said earlier that Red Hat EX200 should not be a difficult exam to pass. Red Hat requires you to get only 210 marks out of a total of 300. This is just a mere 70 per cent. Why am I insisting that this should be considered very easy? Well, RedHat tells you exactly what is in their test by stating clearly the exam objectives. You can get these objectives at the official website. It’s important to check them out once every few weeks just in case there are any new additions.

The objectives are what served as my study outline. I thought of them as my checklist throughout my preparation period. Among the tasks that have been listed, you will find that some of them are very easy and some are a bit difficult. I used this checklist to identify the areas that needed much of my time. I referred to exam objective and my list of “not-so-easy” and “easy” study points regularly throughout the preparation period. In other words, the exam objectives should be the main table of contents for the entire study plan. It guides you and ensures that you don’t study aimlessly.

Play with a virtual environment

The Red Hat EX200 exam is a performance-based test. In fact, all Red Hat certification exams are usually real-world or hands-on ones. I knew this very well and I expected them to present us with a number of problems for me to solve in the virtual environment. I knew that for me to be able to solve such problems, I needed a virtual environment, which I could play with.

When I embarked on searching for virtualization solutions, I found plenty of paid and free ones. After thorough research, I settled for Exam-Labs practice tests in VCE format and Avanset Exam Simulator. This software works on Mac, Windows, and mobile devices. I could always have it installed within a few minutes on my laptop computer and this gave me the total freedom to study whenever and wherever. Practice tests from Exam-Labs are neatly made and reliable. With the exam simulator, you can conduct as many practice exams as you want, which I did. Also, I realized that Exam-Labs practice questions are perfectly aligned with the program, so I could be sure of getting the relevant information.

I also use the Red Hat operating system. You don’t have to pay anything to use Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). It’s only that you won’t be able to update any of their installed packages if you don’t have a license. I also realized that it’s not a must to use RHEL. If you don’t have the license to access the Red Hat-installed packages, you can actually use CentOS because it’s more or less the same as RHEL.

Get the right information

I have highlighted the first two tips that I used and they were actually very helpful. However, you might be asking yourself where I got the right information. Well, I also struggled with the same question and fortunately, I got what I was looking for.

I started by searching for information on the Internet and I found plenty of materials. However, not every piece of information I found on Google was helpful. So, I enrolled for a Red Hat training, which prepared me fully for the exam. Being a Linux administrator, I identified the best training for professionals like me. I took the RHCSA Rapid Track Course to prepare me for the test. The course came with Red Hat EX200, which I took to gauge myself on how ready I was for the real exam. The course took me only 4 days to complete and I needed one more day to take the EX200 certification test. I had no experience and this tutorial was very helpful because it is actually designed for beginners.

If you are a Windows System Administrator, then I would recommend you to take the Red Hat System Administration I (RH124) course. Alternatively, you can also take Red Hat System Administration II (RH134). You only need to choose the best course for you based on your experience level.

Have a rest

When I knew that I had done everything that is required of me, I decided to relax. After all, it was only a test. I took a rest a day before sitting for my exam. When the time for reckoning finally came, I sat for the Red Hat EX200 test and I scored 300 marks out of 300 total marks. In other words, I got 100%.

Conclusion

Based on my experience, one thing is apparent – thorough and systematic preparation is the key to passing the Red Hat EX200 exam on the first attempt. Get the right information, take the right training course and let the exam objectives guide you throughout the preparation process. Also, don’t forget about the resources such as Exam-Labs! I hope you will pass this test with flying colors as I did. Good luck!
