Dubai is one of the few cities in the world built for attracting tourists and gaining international attention. In a matter of 30 or so years, the royal family has built Dubai into one of the fastest growing cities in the world. It is home to some of the world’s most lavish achievements, including the Burj Khalifa (tallest building), Dubai Mall (biggest mall), the largest firework show and more. The city prides itself in taking initiatives to push the limitations of human achievement. Even smaller, more insignificant records such as the largest chocolate sculpture, the largest Christmas bauble and the longest wheelie on a quad bike are taken on and embraced by the royal family and residents alike. Being that the city is so reliant on tourism, there are a wide variety of attractions and adventure things to do around Dubai.

Skydive Dubai

On top of the list has to be the world famous Skydive Dubai. Very few people can say they have ever had the privilege of jumping out of a plane. Even fewer can say they’ve jumped out of a plane over the famous Palm Jumeirah. There is little that can compete with the sheer exhilaration of being 14,000 feet above a city of Dubai’s caliber. As such, this is one of the most famous tourist attractions the city has to offer, despite the hefty 2100 AED price tag.

Desert Safari

Another exhilarating adventure is sand duning through the desert with tour guides aiming to make your heart drop. The rollercoaster-like experience gives you a taste of the Bedouin lifestyle and is usually the highlight of the holiday for most who give it a try! The ride itself is relatively cheap compared to other adventures at roughly 150 AED per person. For AED 50 extra, you can enjoy a belly dancing show with a BBQ dinner in the middle of the desert. Tour guides are also present to cater to any concerns or questions you may have.

Atlantis-The Palm Hotel

If getting sandy isn’t your cup of tea, you also have the option to do the opposite and check out Atlantis The Palm Hotel. A 5-star hotel accompanied by a huge water park that includes swimming with dolphins, an aquarium filled with 65,000 incredible marine mammals and a sea lion point! There is no shortage of things to do and each day is mesmerizing in itself. The water rides also range from family friendly to heart thumping euphoria.

Scuba Diving

Those who enjoy water parks might want to consider exploring the Persian Gulf with certified scuba divers, that will take you to the depths of these beautiful waters. This is a chance to descend into the unknown and witness all the beauty the Gulf has to offer. The diving session lasts around 45 minutes and you can choose to dive as low as 5 meters or up to 12 meters. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience.

The Dubai Fountain

For activities a little calmer, you must consider the Dubai fountain lake ride. The Dubai Fountain is one of the biggest musical fountains in the world and uses more than 6,600 lights and 83,000 liters of water. Instead of witnessing it from the stands, why not the lake itself? The Abra is a taxi-like family boat that will navigate you through the waters and put you right in front of one of the great spectacles Dubai has to offer!

Ski Dubai

If you think that the possibility of seeing snow in the UAE is close to slim, think again! Ski Dubai, located at the mall of the Emirates, is a massive indoor snow park which gives you all the features of a ski resort. The indoor resort features an 85-meter high indoor mountain with a wide variety of ski slopes to showcase your skills. You can also have a little family fun at the snow park inside and get the chance to encounter real penguins.

IMG Worlds of Adventure

IMG Worlds of Adventure is Dubai’s first mega themed entertainment destination and covers an area of 28 football fields. State of the art rides will bring all your favorite Marvel and Cartoon Network characters to life. There are plenty of places within the theme park to dine and shop when you need to take a break. Also within the park is a brand new IMAX theatre that plays all the latest movies dominating the box office.

In reality, the adventures never really end as long as you’re looking for them. The city is constantly adding new experiences and tourist attractions to prepare for EXPO 2020, which is the largest event staged in the Arab world. The EXPO will see 190 participating countries and millions of visitors from across the globe. To prepare, Dubai has started building some astonishing experiences such as the largest Ferris Wheel, an underwater hotel, breathtaking architecture, art installations and more. The possibilities, however, are endless!
