Nestled high above the bustling streets of East London, Bokan 37 offers a high end brunch experience that’s nothing short of perfection. The views alone are worth the visit, but it’s the culinary prowess and lively ambiance which truly steal the show. So, grab your sunglasses and prepare for a gastronomic journey that takes you to the skies!

As you step into Bokan 37 restaurant, you can’t help but be captivated by the stunning panoramic views of East London. The floor-to-ceiling windows and the expansive outside terrace offers the perfect vantage point to soak in the city’s boundless energy. The sunshine bathes the venue in a warm glow, creating an inviting atmosphere that sets the stage for a memorable brunch. Although we visited and encountered not only glorious sunshine but an electric storm later, both were equally as beguiling to watch from the cosy confines of Bokan 37.

Bokan’s bottomless brunch menu is a seasonal feast of innovative dishes, all expertly crafted by their talented culinary team, headed up by esteemed executive chef Robert Manea. Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect.

I opted for the Egg Kadaif, watercress puree, Alsace bacon. I know ‘chef’s kiss’ is a very overused expression on social media at the moment but sincerely, it’s truly the best description for this dish.

My brunch buddy opted for Salmon sushi with dashi broth and was blown away with the textural fusion.

We explored the mains by choosing organic chicken supreme parsnip puree with truffle mash with a side of roasted sweetcorn and Cod with spring green garden respectively. The staff and kitchen were super accommodating as this supreme dish usually comes with Girolles and Shitake mushrooms but they kindly swapped that out for me.

Every morsel we had was a taste explosion and the flavours married together beautifully.

We barely had room for pud. However the cheeseboard was too much to resist for my friend and my light as air strawberry dream dessert was exquisite like nothing I’d ever tasted before.

The bottomless brunch after party experience at Bokan 37 isn’t just about the food, it’s a celebration of life with a live DJ setting the mood with uplifting tunes to enjoy the bar and rooftop terrace to the max.

The Verdict:

Bokan 37’s bottomless brunch is a heady mix of gastronomy followed by musical entertainment, set against the striking backdrop of East London. The chef’s special dishes showcase creativity and skill, while the DJ’s beats infuse the venue with a vibrant energy that’s hard to resist. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging in a leisurely weekend treat, Bokan 37 is the place to be. So, gather your friends, put on your best brunch attire, and prepare for a day of culinary delight and stunning scenery that you won’t forget in a hurry.

Saturday Brunch 3 Course menu £45 with bottomless Prosecco or house wine (white or red)£19 and is available every Saturday – 12:30pm to 16:30pm (Last orders 14:30pm) and you can book here.

Nestled at the heart of London’s vibrant West End since 1909, the Strand Palace Hotel is a timeless oasis amidst the bustling cityscape. Positioned on the iconic Strand, this charming establishment boasts easy access to some of the city’s most renowned parks and attractions, making it an ideal destination for tourists or locals seeking an unforgettable urban retreat.

This summer, the hotel’s creative team has curated a fabulous floral package – Summer In Bloom – to celebrate the surrounding green spaces and Royal horticulture, and you can experience the whole shebang until the end of September.

Floral Delights Await & The Afternoon Tea Experience

The Strand Palace Hotel’s reputation for exquisite experiences reaches its zenith with this summer’s Floral Afternoon Tea. The ambience is enchanting, with tastefully arranged blooms that transport patrons to a realm of botanical splendour. The attention to detail is evident, from the delicate porcelain tea sets to the expertly adapted menu.

The star of the show is undoubtedly the delectable assortment of treats that grace the three-tiered stands. Classic finger sandwiches, skilfully crafted pastries, and freshly baked scones are theatrically presented in a manner that feels both opulent and inviting. The culinary team has succeeded in blending traditional tea-time favourites with inventive flourishes, creating an experience that delights the palate and the senses.

Each morsel is a testament to the expertise of the pastry chefs, while the selection of teas is a connoisseur’s dream. The tea menu caters to all tastes from fragrant floral blends to robust classics. I loved the gorgeous white Peony with Rosebuds; simply delicious!

The Cornish crab brioche buns were the savoury highlight for me (I’m craving them as I write this!) and the heritage tomato tartlet with whipped buffalo mozzarella and basil is an inspired choice. For sweets treats, it’s hard not to single out the espresso martini brownies made with Love Cocoa coffee beans as a must eat.

Experience – A walking Tour Of London

Accredited Blue Badge tour guides will take you on a magical walking tour of the best places to hang out locally and immerse you in the wonder of its history. Our charismatic tour host Mark Conroy had our jaws dropping at his little-known insider facts and anecdotes. Even as a former London local, I couldn’t believe the nuggets of knowledge he imparted that had previously completely escaped me.

Bloomsbury Flowers

For a truly Eliza Doolittle experience in the heart of iconic Covent Garden, an optional extra in the stay is a masterclass with renowned florists, Bloomsbury Flowers, who can share their expertise in floral arranging to help you bouquet like a pro. London is awash right now with on trend bottomless options of every theme imaginable. From a drag bingo brunch to saxy brunches (pun intended) – everything is possible.

All too often, the food is the second class citizen in comparison to the bubbles or entertainment, with a bog standard offering included in the price with small portions and unimaginative edibles.

In stark comparison, the bottomless Sunday roast at Oxbo in the perfectly situated Hilton London Bankside showcases the food front and centre whilst simultaneously maxing out your bubbles.

You can enjoy a 2 hour festival of food with starters, plentiful brunch from the endless choices, then weave your way into a classic Sunday roast with all the trimmings, then sinking into a sweet coma to finish off, if that floats your boat.

Kick off the celebrations with entrees curated so cutely you will struggle to resist. From a twist on the classic prawn cocktail, to ramekins filled with asian fusion to charcuterie style choices, there is something to suit all whims and fancies.

Follow up by heading over to the bustling open kitchen for firm brunch faves like eggs benedict or pancakes/waffles of choice.

Meanwhile, order up the sumptuous roast dinner with succulent choices of beef, chicken or veggie according to your likes. Serving arguably the best roast potatoes in London, these sides and trimmings do not disappoint!

I challenge you to have any room left for manoeuvre but if you do, you can indulge in the fluffiest finger fancies and cutest confections on the chefs stations.

The location itself is instagram ready, with a giant sparkly photo opp on your arrival, a bespoke floral wall, sweet trollies and various pic points scattered through the hotel foyer and restaurant.

The atmosphere is buzzing and the dining area is a heady mix of chatter with the most varied clientele, from duos to girlie groups and families alike.

If you are looking for a classy brunch, with all the bang for your buck in a great location, don’t miss this one out! Oh, and newsflash – kids under 12 eat free!

To book your brunch at Oxbo, London Hilton Bankside, go to www.oxbobankside.co.uk

Prices start at £38 for a four course feast without alcohol and £55 with bottomless bubbles.

The Dilly hotel in Piccadilly, London is a significant landmark on the streets paved with gold.

Unable to be any more central to the action than this hotel, The Dilly is the perfect location for a city break.

But it’s so much more than a gracefully designed space to lay your head, and Team Coco are going to let you in on a little secret.

The Secret Garden at The Dilly is a hidden gem which nestles visitors in their own cosy cocoons under elegant arches, above one of the busiest thoroughfares in the Capital. View the hustle and bustle from the perfect elevated vantage point whilst casually sipping on an Aperol Spritz or some other delight from their extensive cocktail menu and discerning English wine offerings and moreish light bites.

The Dilly encapsulates everything a visitor needs, with it’s refurbished rooms, award winning Indian restaurant Madhu and their fabulous bar ‘Downstairs at the Dilly’ serving up live entertainment in the most refined backdrop, serving up theatrical thirst quenchers.

Their London afternoon tea is an instagram dream, the talented chefs have outdone themselves on this one and I cannot recommend it highly enough, even if only from an aesthetic point of view alone, it’s head and shoulders above most I have tried out.

Our room was sumptuously set out and surprisingly silent considering we were on one of the busiest streets in town. The Dilly has managed to create the perfect sanctuary in the heart of London.

Where else can you find a swimming pool, the only outdoor balcony and historic architecture dressed with modern sophistication in this prestigious location? Only at the Dilly London.

If you’re looking for the ultimate day out in London, then Knightsbridge is the place to be. With its upscale vibes and world-renowned stores, Knightsbridge is the go-to destination for a day of sheer indulgence. We went on a 24 hour tourist hop of Knightsbridge, including the iconic Harrods and Harvey Nichols. So, strap in and come with us for a day of lavishness!

First Stop: Harrods

We couldn’t have a luxury day in Knightsbridge without visiting world famous Harrods. Setting foot in this iconic department store feels like entering an exquisite palace of opulence. With its grand architecture, dazzling window displays, and luxurious interiors, Harrods is a shopaholic’s dream come true.

Packed with fashion-forward designer collections covering all bases from
on-trend streetwear to haute couture, Harrods has it all. You can browse through the latest fashion pieces from top luxury brands like Dior, Gucci, Chanel and Louis Vuitton to name but a few. Whether you’re in the mood for a chic outfit for a night out or a statement piece for your Instagram feed, Harrods has something to suit your style.

This eminent store isn’t just about fashion though. As you wander through its hallowed halls, you’ll also find an endless array of premium beauty products, fine jewellery, exquisite homewares, and gourmet treats. Treat yourself to a luxe beauty haul with high-end skincare from La Mer or indulge in a piece of fine jewellery from Tiffany & Co. And don’t forget to check out the famous Harrods Food Hall, a haven for foodies, where you can sample delectable delights from around the globe.

Harrods is also home to critically acclaimed dining offerings. From the famed ground floor foodhall all the way to the top with the latest jewel in the crown – Norwegian fusion fifth floor restaurant Studio Frantzén.

To say our leisurely lunch there was perfection would be doing it a great injustice. It has rocketed to one of my favourite ever London lunches, and there’s some fierce competition in that category, let me tell you!
What they can do with fried brocolli and pork belly is the stuff of legends.

We started off enjoying the custom made roof terrace, our champagne bubbles glowing in the spring sunshine against the backdrop of the London skyline. We chose our food there and then were escorted to the restaurant downstairs when it was ready as we wanted to soak up the decadence indoors for the main event and enjoy the buzzy atmosphere around the vast open plan kitchen.

The theatrical presentation of the food only adds to its delectable excellence. We feasted on a curation of grilled oysters (the smoked butter sauce was inspired!), roasted cauliflower with black winter truffle, grilled guinea fowl, salad ‘bonito cesear’ and the signature Sweden vs Japan dish – braised beef brisket, grilled Japanese Wagyu, lemongrass jus & Japanese mustard.

Accompanied by deep-fried Hasselback potato with whipped browned butter & cream cheese and Charred broccolini with eel sauce, mint & Thai basil, I can honestly say this was one of the most flavoursome meals we had ever had the pleasure of. Each dish and morsel was a new discovery of flavour fusions, deep layered textures and a purity of ingredients that Chef Patron Björn Frantzén is renowned for.

I can’t neglect to mention the unique hand painted Morakniv knives by artist Pernilla Nordman. A unique touch and a wow moment which is just a drop in the ocean of the attention to detail at Studio Frantzén
I cannot recommend this restaurant any more highly, please indulge yourself, thank me later!

Drybar: Harrods Blow Dry Bar

After our immersive culinary experience, we dropped down 5 floors to indulge in some pampering at Harrods exclusive hair salon, Drybar, to select a style from their extensive menu of options.
A glass of bubbly and the only head massage I’ve ever actually enjoyed later, our locks were being teased and styled to get date night ready.

I loved my big bouncy blow which miraculously held in my long locks the entire night, such was the skill from Sabrina, my stylist.
What struck me the most from the chats with both of our stylists was the cameraderie among the staff, that team spirit certainly spills over into the atmosphere and envelops the client in positivity.
We also loved their range of Drybar products they use exclusively, so light and highly effective.

Harvey Nichols

After our glow up it was time to continue our luxury day out with a visit to another Knightsbridge institution – Harvey Nichols. This upscale department store is known for its cutting-edge fashion and beauty, it’s a must-visit destination for any fashionista.

However, let’s not forget about Harvey Nichols’ home and lifestyle offerings. You can browse through unique home decor pieces and stylish touches to elevate your living space to new heights of luxury. From elegant dinnerware to luxurious bedding, Harvey Nichols has everything you need to make your home a haven of opulence.

After a shopping spree at Harvey Nichols, you can head to one of its on- trend restaurants for an epicurean dining experience. With options ranging from fine dining to casual eateries, Harvey Nichols offers a variety of culinary delights to satisfy your taste buds. You can enjoy a delicious meal prepared by world-class chefs, sip on artisanal cocktails, and soak in the chic atmosphere of the restaurant or head over to Burger & Lobster for a more casual vibe.

We love a roof terrace as much as you do, so headed to the top floor terrace and had an elegant evening sipping cocktails and grazing on small plates whilst soaking up the ambience. What a fashionable way to kick off your weekend.

Other activities to stimulate your senses in this neck of the woods, we would recommend taking in a visit to The ARX gallery on Brompton Road which is host to a diverse international programme of multi sensory solo and collaborative exhibitions from up and coming names and established icons such as Damien Hirst & Tracey Emin. It is open to the public Fridays & Saturdays or for private appointments at other times.

Get your nature kicks right in the heart of London and take a stroll in Hyde Park, one of London’s most iconic and beautiful spaces. You can explore this sprawling expanse in style, whether it’s by renting a bike, rollerblading, or simply taking a leisurely walk.

Hyde Park offers a range of activities for outdoor enthusiasts, including boating on the Serpentine Lake, playing sports on the vast green lawns, or purely relaxing and enjoying the natural beauty of the park.

A day in Knightsbridge is simply not enough, but it’s a great start!

MSC Cruises Launch Their Spectacular Seascape Vessel In New York City

For a cruising newbie, this House Of Coco trip to New York to watch the dazzling ceremony on board MSC’s newest flagship, Seascape, was a glimpse into a previously undiscovered world.

Blessed by the iconic Godmother of the fleet, Sophia Loren, the ship got off to a star studded start to it’s Caribbean future. We were treated to a stunning performance from international singer-songwriter Matteo Bocelli and DJ-ing from none other than global Grammy award-winning superstar, Ne-yo.

MSC do not mess around when it comes to pulling out all the stops to entertain their guests.

The opulence which has been lovingly carved into every minute detail of Seascape’s aesthetic is a treat for the senses.

It’s hard to comprehend how this family run empire can stay so true to its roots while producing the first line in luxury to cater for the needs of their loyal and demanding clientele, but they pull it off with aplomb on every ship in the 21 strong cruise ship fleet.

MSC Seascape – The stats:

The vessel features 2,270 cabins with 12 different types of staterooms and suites;

11 dining venues and 19 bars and lounges;

6 swimming pools, including a stunning aft (towards the rear) infinity pool; an expansive waterfront promenade;

a spectacular Bridge of Sighs on deck 16 with a breath-taking view of the ocean; and one of the most luxurious Yacht Clubs in the entire fleet.

Guests sailing on MSC Seascape will enjoy 98 hours of live entertainment per cruise and cutting-edge amusement options, including ROBOTRON, a thrilling amusement ride available at sea for the first time.

The other great thing about the addition of this New York City port is that cruisers now have even more choice of embarkation points for MSC guests from around the globe, although the Seascape vessel itself will be based from it’s home port of Miami.

Once on board, every whim and fancy is catered for. The culinary offerings are exquisite and guests are treated like royalty, regardless of their booking grade.

We tried out every restaurant, absolute perfection on the palate. From the tacos to the tepanyaki, each esculent offering was mouth watering and lavish.

Sustainable Ships

MSC’s commitment to the environment is outstandingly impressive. From taking the ravaged island of Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve and turning it into an idyllic private paradise for their guests to enjoy, to implementing the best in-class wastewater treatment systems with purification standards higher than most wastewater treatments facilities on land and selective catalytic reduction systems to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 90 percent by converting the gas into harmless nitrogen and water. And they aren’t resting on their laurels, it’s a continual strive for sustainability and they are putting their money on coming out on top with this one.

We didn’t leave the dock on this trip but had a tatser of the joys of cruising – stay tuned for more in depth cruise news from us in 2023 as we are now hooked!

To book the cruise of a lifetime, check out MSC and their range of luxury options here.
