Behind the Brand : KB Hair Extensions

“I created KB Hair Extensions as I have been using hair extensions for over 8 years and have come across many different companies, methods and prices. I decided that I wanted to provide the best hair extension service in the West Sussex Area and my prices reflect what I feel are the best. I created KB Hair Extensions as a part time business, working evenings and weekends only. Don’t be fooled, cutting corners and getting “cheap” hair is not always the best option. I have a diploma in Micro ring/ weft hair extensions and have been able to set up my business with the help of social networking sites.’

Those words are from KB, a true life boss babe that is having great success in the beauty industry. Here, she chats to us at House of Coco and tells us more…

When did you launch the brand and what was the reason behind it?
I launched KB Hair Extensions in 2014 after many years of wearing hair extensions myself I thought it was time to bring hair extensions to West Sussex.

Whats your background?
I have worn hair extensions for 8 years, so many types and have always thought wouldn’t it be nice to do this myself.

How many people are involved in the company and what are their roles?
I run this business myself, however in the past I have had help from a few friends to run my social media accounts, giving them experience too in the process.

If you could start over with the business, would you do anything differently?
If I could start up all over again I would think of better ways to promote!

What is the hardest challenge you have faced since you started the company?
The hardest challenge I have faced since KB hair opened is time! I wish I had more time to set up a shop or create more hair transformations. It’s true when they say 24 hours in a day is not enough.

Tell us one fact about you that people wouldn’t know?
Well, I’m sure some people would know but I once worked for Mr Peter Andre, and a photo of me appeared in the Daily Mail. You can see the bad hair extensions I wore. How embarrassing!

2016 ishere, where do you plan on taking the brand?
In 2016 I want to grow, I hope I can use more “real girls” for our campaigns and get more bloggers and celebs on board.

To date, what has been the highlight since launching?
Being in some of the biggest national magazine advertisements has been the best feeling. I myself currently take the photos for all my photo shoots which appear in the magazines and that is such a great feeling.

Which city do you feel most at home in, London, Paris or New York?
London will always be my home, born and bred!

Three beauty products you can’t leave the house without?
Chanel powder, Mac lip liner and a hair brush!

Style means….?
Being confident, feeling sexy and looking great!

Best thing about London to you?
It’s home, it’s busy and around every corner is a different hair style.

Statement shoe or statement bag?
It’s all about a statement bag, a bag can change an outfit.

If you had to, what piece of clothing from your wardrobe would you wear everyday?
If I had to choose one piece it would have to be my Asos jumpsuit, it can be dressed up or down and jumpsuits are so comfy!

Favourite love song?
It has to be a song from the  weekend or trey songz, don’t make me choose!

Best place for a coffee?
New York coffee club! There are currently on two in the UK and I used to work for one!

Most memorable piece of advice given to you?
Never give up

Guilty pleasure?
Waking up and reading Facebook, Instagram and the Daily Mail! Oh and watching keeping up with the Kardashians every now and then.

If you could spent 24 hours in anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Facebook HQ! It would be so interesting to see what goes on there.

In future, how do you plan on expanding the company?
