Bibigo Angel is brand new for January, and the House of Coco team can’t help but go gooey-eyed over authentic and contemporary Korean food! So we headed down to Bibigo’s newest outpost (it is a sister restaurant to the popular Bibigo Soho) for inexpensive, healthy and fresh, contemporary Korean food – the perfect meal to round off a chilly January!
The central feature of the interior is the open plan, copper-clad kitchen. Here chef Yongjae Cho and his team can be seen working over the charcoal grill, serving dishes such as lip-smacking Squid and Pork Bulgogi (char-grilled pork and squid marinated in spicy chilli sauce) and Traditional Bulgogi (Char-grilled beef marinated in barbecue sauce).
Other menu highlights include Korean Spicy Ramyun (Ramyun noodles in a spicy broth with braised pork belly, kimchi, seaweed and enoki mushrooms), Hot Stone Seafood Rice (a sizzling pot of rice and seafood served with a spicy soy sauce) and Gangnam Tong-dak (Deep fried marinated chicken served with pickled mooli, chilli and coriander) alongside smaller dishes such as Sweet & Spicy Rice Cake and Deep Fried Cuttlefish – we were spoiled for choice!
The cocktail list features innovative drinks such as soju based Yellow Sea (soju, lemongrass, vanilla infused maple syrup and yuja tea) and classics with a Korean twist such as Ginseng Stormy (rum, ginseng, ginger beer and lime juice) – this, plus the chic interiors, mean that it’s rather easy to settle in for the night…!
