Have you ever noticed how walking in the forest makes you feel a natural high? Connecting with nature can make us very happy and centered. This notion has been supported by studies that suggest just looking at photographs of the natural environment offers a calming effect. If you live in an urban setup, you can utilize public parks to get some greenery exposure. Keep on reading to learn why everyone should spend more time in nature.

Improve Your Mental Health

The green environment in the woods or park enhances your mood since it helps ease feelings of depression, anxiety, stress, and negativity. To increase the benefits gained from nature’s atmosphere, you can exercise in the form of a walk or jog in the area. Fresh air lowers the cortisol levels in your body which leads to a better mood. A lower stress level is good for your overall health since it is associated with many conditions such as weight gain and the risk of diabetes.

Choose What You Love Most

There are several activities you can do when you are out in nature. Camping, for one, is a way to enjoy the experience to the fullest. The great thing is you can choose among many outdoor hobbies and activities that suit your interest to get the necessary dose of fresh air. To make things even easier, visit a place with all the resources you need to use. On top of that, you can also carry the ideal gear and equipment that can make your outdoor adventure memorable.

Learn to Appreciate Nature

Many people are not fully aware of the benefits they can obtain from just walking in a green environment. Research indicates that a 50-minute walk in the park can restore your cognitive skills while, on the other hand, walking in the city can produce negative effects. These brain functions can be achieved when you walk in the open regardless of your mood, weather, or other external factors. Sitting in a quiet room does not produce the same level of cognitive benefits as walking in the woods.

Improve Immune Function

If you spend more time in nature, your immune function will significantly improve and you will enjoy lower levels of inflammation. Spending some time outdoors can also help reduce the risk of cancer since nature can stimulate the body to produce anti-cancer cells. Fresh air also supports heart health. When you do some exercises while breathing clean air, your blood pressure and heart rate will be reduced.

Research also indicates that walking in nature can reduce the chances of getting infected with type 2 diabetes. This can be attributed to the positive impacts of nature on mood, weight, stress, and cardiovascular health. These factors can contribute to the development of diabetes.

Increase vitamin D

Walking in nature can significantly improve your vitamin D intake which plays a crucial role in the development of bones. It also impacts appetite, weight, mood, and metabolism. Vitamin D deficiencies are common among many people, but you can overcome this problem by getting some sunshine.

Boost Brain Function

Being outside helps your brain function from improving memory to enhancing your ability to focus. If you are immersed in nature for a few days, your problem-solving skills will significantly improve. Additionally, nature also promotes creativity, and hikers can perform better in different activities compared to non-hikers or those who live sedentary lifestyles. If you spend more time in nature, you can think fast and this will help you overcome challenges you may encounter.

Improve Sleep

Spending time with some stunning mountain scenery will also significantly improve your daytime energy and quality of sleep at night. The outdoor experience can be mentally and physically rejuvenating, and this will help you enjoy a peaceful rest. If you want to boost your energy, you can take a short nature walk instead of drinking coffee. Time spent in nature can improve your vision since this will give you a break from looking at your smartphone, computer, or television continuously. Children who spend a lot of time watching television or playing games face the risk of developing myopia. Their vision will be blurred by these gadgets. Therefore, they need to have some time playing in the park.

Getting out in nature is critical in our lives since it helps improve physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. It only takes a few minutes to reap these benefits, and you don’t need to spend the whole week on a camping trip. When you are outdoors, take your time to breathe deeply and enjoy the fresh air. You should make it a habit to exercise outside and spend some time in nature, living in the moment.

If you are torn between smoking cannabis and using edibles, there are some key factors to keep in mind. These include the potential health implications, the time it takes to feel effects and the length of the high, the ease of preparation, and the social factors.

Health Factors

Smoking marijuana is linked to various kinds ofi lung damage. When you burn tobacco and marijuana, toxins and carcinogens are released from the combustion of the materials. These can lead to chronic bronchitis, a chronic cough, air pockets forming between the lungs, damage to the immune system, and cancer.

Consuming edibles is a great way to avoid these health complications. Just remember to keep edibles well away from minors who could consume them by mistake.

Unlike with smoking cannabis, when you eat edibles the THC is processed by the liver before you experience the psychoactive effects. The liver converts THC into 11-hydroxy-THC, which is a more potent metabolite. Essentially, this means when you eat cannabis rather than smoking it, you end up experiencing a significantly more intense high.

In a world where everyone consumed the correct dose of edibles, it would be the clear winner in terms of the safest method to consume cannabis. The problems only come when people, especially beginners, eat too big a dose. People will often get frustrated waiting for the effects to kick in and eat more of the edible, then they will be struck suddenly by a very intense and overwhelming high. So, remember, take a small dose and wait for the effects! If you are concerned about dosage in any way, you may even want to consider microdosing which is where you consume a very low dosage over a period of time, as a way of getting all of the positive changes and benefits without the intoxicating effects.

Length of High

Smoking cannabis has a much quicker psychoactive effect that will kick in from thirty seconds to a few minutes after inhalation. However, this high doesn’t last as long as the high produced by edibles, at just two to four hours, with the peak effects arriving approximately thirty minutes after smoking.

Consuming cannabis provides a much slower psychoactive effect, as the digestive system has to process the edible before you can experience the high. When you consume edibles the high can take anywhere from thirty minutes to two hours to present itself, and it can last from four to six hours, or more, depending on the dose.

It is true that it is far faster to roll a joint than it is to make your own edibles, meaning smoking is the more immediate pleasure. However, edibles are available for purchase ready-made in states where they are legal, such as Mississippi, although this can only be done with a Mississippi medical marijuanas card. Alternatively, you can have the fun of designing your own edibles in states where this is possible. If you enjoy the delayed gratification and satisfaction of sampling and sharing your home baking, this is the way forward for you.

Making Edibles

If you have decided that edibles are your preferred cannabis consumption method, why not be daring and try to make them yourself? This can be a super fun activity for you and your friends, and you can create the flavors and type of edible that most appeals to you.

You don’t need to be a professional baker, as there are great guides online that take you through the processes of making your own edibles. There is no one way to make edibles, depending on whether you prefer baked goods, hard candies, gummies, or cannabis-infused cream or butter, the recipe options are endless. You can even make cannabis soups, stews, or sauces using infused oils.

While every recipe is different, depending on what end product you are going for, they all begin with an essential first step: decarbing your cannabis. Decarboxylation is the process of heating up your cannabis until the THCA within turns into Delta 9, otherwise known as THC. This is an essential step, as without thoroughly decarbing your cannabis, your edibles will have absolutely no psychoactive effects. Depending on your starting product, the decarbing process will be different, so use online guides to help you with this crucial step. If you don’t feel confident enough in making your own edibles, there are many CBD edible online sites that offer a wide variety of high-quality products to fit everyone’s needs instead.

Social Factors

We are all familiar with the lingering smell of smoked cannabis. It can cling to your clothes, hair, and furniture for days. This is a negative social effect of smoking, as it can prevent people from wanting to come to your home, and can be embarrassing. On the other hand, you can consume edibles inside without fear of making your house smell. This is a more social environment than when people keep leaving the room to go outside and smoke.

It isn’t advisable to smoke or consume cannabis in public as you can be distracted, drowsy, and slow to react, which can pose a safety concern. However, if you do want to experience a high when out of the house, edibles are a more discreet option than the pungent-smelling smoke.

Edibles: The Better Choice

When choosing your cannabis product of choice, you will want to consider the negative health implications of inhaling burning particles of marijuana. The safer option is to consume edibles, as long as you remember to watch your dosage and not to get impatient waiting for effects! The high will come, do not overuse edibles.

You and your friends can bake edibles together and make a fun day of the experience, choosing which kind of food you will make, what flavors to try, and even decorating your creations with fun colors and toppings.

Finally, consider the social benefits of consuming cannabis. Edibles are the less smelly and more discreet choice.

Coliving is a hot new trend amongst young people and entrepreneurs in the New York Area.

It basically entails a group of unrelated people sharing a house and it’s attendant responsibility, like rent and utilities. For more statistics on coliving, you can read SharedEasy’s detailed post about coliving.

What is Coliving?

According to Wikipedia, coliving is “a residential community living model that accommodates three or more biologically unrelated people. Generally coliving is a type of intentional community that provides shared housing for people with similar values or intentions.”

This means that coliving is basically living with strangers that have things in common with you and forging bonds of friendship and relationships with these people.

The website Common, has a similar and slightly different definition of coliving. “Coliving is a modern form of communal living in which residents get a private bedroom in a furnished home with shared common areas,” defines Common in its comprehensive guide to coliving.

Coliving is very popular among students, workers, digital nomads, and people who are relocating to a new place.

Coliving is attractive to more and more people because it is affordable, flexible, and affords it users a sense of community. That’s all people really need in these times- a strong support system of people with shared values and aspirations that can hold your hand on days that you don’t feel strong enough to go it alone.

How Does Coliving Work?

Searching for a good coliving apartment is not that different from searching for love online.

You come with a list of specifications, some a hard pass, and others more flexible, and you go through hundreds of ‘applicants’ to find that one person that you know you have the most in common with, and whom you know would make a great partner for you and vice versa.

Searching for the perfect coliving conditions is exactly like that, except you are looking for the perfect space and the perfect people to share this space with.

With coliving, as with online dating, once you decide to commit to it, you are presented with a lot of options which can be very daunting.

The first thing to do, after making that monumental decision, is to decide what you would want from an ideal coliving website.

Make a list of services you would want them to offer, and then proceed to do your research. When you find the one that meets your specifications, you go for it.

The thing that is different with coliving as opposed to a normal roommate living situation is the fact that the basic chores are taken care of. Depending on the company that you decide to go with on your coliving journey, everything from cleaning to grocery shopping is taken care of.

This leaves you free to focus on work, school, freelancing, or any other thing that currently keeps you busy.

Perks of Coliving

When you sign up for coliving, you sign up for peace of mind and real, lasting relationships with your housemates. A comprehensive list of things you enjoy when you sign up for coliving includes:

An affordable, comfortable living arrangement that fits your budget and your specifications,

Access to amenities such as laundry services, gym, etc.,

  • Cleaning services. This has to be the most interesting part of coliving for me. Imagine never having to devote hours of your life trying to get some stain out from between the shower tiles. Think of how much more productive you would be.
  • A chance to build long-lasting relationships with like-minded people. Coliving affords you the opportunity of meeting people that you never might have met on your own. Some of these people might even turn out to be lifelong friends, or may go from friends to lovers!
  • Peace of Mind. Peace of mind in these times is an absolute necessity. Coliving takes all the ‘money’ tension out of the roommate situation by being the one to collect the bills and the utilities in a seamless, painless process so you don’t have to spend hours agonizing about the perfect way to ask your roommate for the rent without sounding too pushy.

Now that you have an idea of how coliving can help, here are a few benefits of coliving.

Benefits of Coliving

● Coliving is affordable. No more stressing about how much of your salary goes to rent when you decide to colive. You just coast on, knowing that your money has paved the way for you.

● Coliving helps improve productivity. Think of all the time you spend on chores, and how drained you feel afterward. Coliving helps eliminate the drudge so you can spend more time on productive things.

● Coliving is flexible. If you’re not ready to commit to staying in a city or at a job, you can save yourself the stress of signing a lease and then having to break it mere months later. With coliving, you can just pay rent for the time you stay, eliminating the need for a deposit and a caution fee.

● Coliving is convenient. The coliving websites take away all the responsibility of household planning from you, which leaves you to use that extra time as you see fit.

● Coliving enables you to live light. Since the apartments are already furnished, the only things you need to bring are yourself and the household essentials like your toothbrush and toothpaste!

● Coliving gives an inbuilt community. Making friends as adults tends to be a little hard. With shared spaces, you don’t have to try as hard, as half of the work has already been done for you. You just need to show up, put your best foot forward, and hope that you form a bond with your housemates.

Conclusion

Now that we have taken the time out to look at the concept of coliving and how it is more than capable of meeting your needs, I hope you are convinced that it is a great thing to try.

When next you move to a new city, instead of rushing to sign a lease on some apartment, why not try coliving? It will be a very enriching experience for you.

Many mothers experience this problem after the birth of a child. It’s a frequent condition that affects more than one out of every ten women during the first year of giving birth. Seek Professional Help

While there are many things you may do on your own, it is still a problem that needs to be addressed by a professional. The majority of patients are unable to completely treat their ailment on their own. You may feel ashamed of how you’re feeling, but keep in mind that this is a common occurrence, and seeking postpartum therapy is the greatest thing you can do for yourself and your kid. Experts can help you choose the correct treatment for you, putting you on the road to recovery.

Many new mothers respond well to a counselor. He or she can help you deal with all the problems that may arise. They can also demonstrate stress-relieving self-care strategies you can do at home to aid yourself.

Care About Yourself

Make no attempt to be a supermom. Remember that you are simply human and that you cannot accomplish everything all of the time. You may, however, still be a fantastic mother simply by being a normal, loving mother. If you make a mistake, don’t be too hard on yourself or feel bad about it; everyone makes errors. It might help if you occupy yourself with something pleasant.

Self-care is the most crucial step in improving your health, so make an effort to get enough sleep, eat well, manage your stress, and maintain your fitness. This is all challenging, especially if you have a new infant, but it is necessary for your health. To keep refreshed, sleep as much as possible, ask your friend, family, or partner to help you with some of the chores, or simply do something you like every day.

Create a Strong Relationship With Your Baby

Concentrate on connecting with your child. Your bond with your child comes before your well-being. It may be challenging, but it is an essential element of parenting a child. To create a deep bond with your infant, spend as much time as possible interacting with and caring for him or her. It’s also fine to take a break from caring for your child, so don’t be afraid to enlist the help of your spouse or a family member. If you’re having trouble bonding with your newborn, get guidance from your therapist or doctor.

Exercise

Rather than diving immediately back into marathon training, it’s crucial to ease your way back into exercise. Taking your infant for a half-hour walk might be enough exercise for you. Exercise at least 3 times each week because it releases endorphins, which may both make you joyful and reduce any stress you may be experiencing.

Use relaxation techniques such as meditation, pilates, yoga, or other relaxation techniques. Because parenting can be very stressful, you should find ways to deal with it. Every day, try a relaxation practice like meditation to see if it helps you feel better. While you rest, be sure someone is minding the baby.

If you’re considering a more comprehensive approach to rejuvenation, such
as a mommy makeover, it’s important to explore all options that can
contribute to your physical and mental well-being during this
transformative phase of life.

No matter how much you love your kid, welcoming a baby into your life comes with obstacles. Fortunately, the approaches listed above can assist you in overcoming negative thoughts and emotions, as well as developing a healthy lifestyle.

Paris knows that you are going to fall in love with her no matter how hard you try to resist and I’ve always thought this rather presumptuous …

The city of light was calling to me after I had been miserable in dark and gloomy England for too long and so I booked myself a hotel, agreed to a date, and set off to see if I could be a Paris convert once and for all. With the pandemic finally over, I was willing to put my penchant for cynicism to one side for one weekend and willingly allow the city to seduce me. I needed to see if it was truly worth the hype.

To up the ante, I stayed right on the Champs-Élysées with the dramatic Arc de Triomphe in full view. The beautiful hotel was called Fraser Suites Le Claridge Champs-Elysées and was the perfect base in the city and within walking distance of the romantic Tuileries Garden and Place de la Concorde. I was greeted with sensational views of the Champs-Elysées from my private apartment as well as rose petals and chocolates – tick, tick! I took a moment to calm my nerves before my date in the typically French patio right in the centre of the aparthotel which felt like a complete oasis as the sun was going down, just moments from one of the busiest and most famous streets in the world.

With my chicest outfit I could bundle together on, I was ready to go. First up on the date was coffee (the key to my heart) and sharing a chocolate mousse (amen) at Les Deux Magots, truly an exceptional start. Watching rather aloof Parisians ping straight back to life at five o’clock after rushes of caffeine and chocolate was something I didn’t know I needed.

I know now that what I had been missing in previous trips to France was being shown around by a local. I received no eye rolls from waiters as a result of my terrible pronunciation, no sniff for obviously wearing a beret facetiously. I kept uncharacteristically quiet as my French language skills are très awful and was elated by how differently everyone at the restaurants and bars treated us when they thought I was Parisien. Maybe my outfit was chic?

First glass of wine down and people think I am French? Suddenly the standoffish demeanour of fellow diners, taxi drivers and Seine walkers was incredibly endearing and sincere. These are my people. Next up was Le Relais de l’Entrecôte for delicious steak and bottomless frites where we sat cheek by jowl with hungry chattering Parisiens. So far the date was going well but I couldn’t help but think how much my girlfriends would laugh at now hard I was trying to blend in and I had to physically restrain myself from calling them in fits of laughter from the bathroom, looking in the mirror and sternly saying ‘no mademoiselle’ to myself in a French accent. The dessert course consisted of me pretending to be purely focused on the profiteroles but in fact I was mapping out my next trip to the city with my flatmate back home in a month’s time, little did she or indeed he (my date) know. I had fallen in love with suddenly possessing this insider knowledge and having at least two good spots to take people, all thanks to the handsome Parisien man sitting opposite me and generously leaving me all the chocolate sauce.

After dinner, I wasn’t head over heels with Paris just yet and slightly craved the buzziness and eclectic vibe of London on a Saturday night but after we walked off our feast the stars were twinkling and I knew that the lights of the Eiffel Tower would definitely break me. My date told me to wait until it was right on the hour for the lights to beginng to sparkle (another great insider tip). I grabbed my phone, ready for the insta moment and a notification from my best friend transferring me £20 popped up with the message ‘I love your plan this weekend, you go girl, get yourself some pink Champagne’. I was sold, I ran to the nearest shop, bought some bubbles and popped them underneath the Eiffel Tower like the embarrassing tourist I am. Have you ever been kissed thinking you were in a movie with flashing lights all around wearing a beret at midnight? I would highly recommend it. Cheesey? Yes. But maybe we all need a little fromage after the last two years, the stronger the better.

3. Do not miss Las Fallas which returns in March

Valencia’s highly anticipated Las Fallas festival will be back in the streets this March. The festival, which always takes place in March, due to the pandemic last year, was shortened and celebrated in September, however it is coming back bigger and louder. The festival, which dates to the 18th century was inscribed in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016 and takes place in March. Each year residents make hundreds of colourful puppet-like sculptures from wooden, cardboard, or papier-mâché known as ninots, which are burned in a massive bonfire while the city’s sky is filled with fireworks. The festival which combines Valencia’s tradition, satire and art is a must-see once in a lifetime event.

4. Sustainable, high-end gastronomy and the birthplace of paella

As the birthplace of paella, and a centre of excellence when it comes to showcasing local produce, visitors need to sample the city’s most famous and international dish. Valencian chefs banded together a few years ago to create Wikipaella, to police paella around the world. Valencian-made paella will either be made with rice and vegetables and animalprotein such as chickenor rabbit, OR, the seafood version is made with fresh produce from the Mediterranean. Visitors will not be short of high-end dining options either. Locally-sourced produce, served locally with flair makes Valencia a foodie paradise. The Michelin Guide for 2022 gave three new stars to restaurants in the city, which join four others.

5. The year of Berlanga – the great chronicler of Spanish society

Valencia is in the midst of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Luis García Berlanga, in the city. Heralded as Spain’s greatest ever film director – Berlanga was an irritant to fascist dictator Francisco Franco and his regime – when many others in the artistic community fled the country.

His legacy includes the films The Executioner (1963), a comedy of manners satirising capital punishment; Plácido (1962), a black comedy mocking false piety, based on real events where a small town’s grandee’s each adopt a poor person for Christmas eve and Welcome, Mister Marshall! (1953), which lampooned Spanish hopes for a slice of US money to rebuild Europe after WW2. They are films which are useful insights into Spain’s tumultuous 20th century. Visitors can join a guided tour which outlines how Valencia influenced his filmmaking, and takes in locations from Berlanga’s childhood, the historic district and his personal relationship with the world of the Fallas Festival.

It may come as a surprise to you, but one of the dirtiest places in the house is actually your kitchen! Why? Mainly because it has all the elements needed to provide the ideal growing environment to all kinds of bacteria and germs. This is why kitchen hygiene is so important – let it go for a bit and you risk making your whole family sick, not to mention how everyone desires to have a clean area to cook their food in.

It’s not as easy as it sounds though. Your kitchen is also probably one of the most-used areas of the house, which means that it requires constant maintenance and cleaning up. It can get exhausting, which is why being smart about kitchen clean up is a good idea.

Keep reading to find out what you can do to keep your kitchen clean more easily. This way, you’ll be able to save a lot of time and effort everyday.

  1. Baking Soda and Cleaning Solutions

If you want to make sure your kitchen stays spotless and pristine, add some baking soda or a small amount of cleaning solution to your mop water everyday. You can even use solutions like this to wipe the sink and other surfaces around the kitchen whenever you do.

Baking soda also works really well with vinegar to create a powerful solution that cuts their grime and rust.

  1. Keep the Sink Clean

The sink is probably one of the most important places in the kitchen, and also one that requires the most attention. Letting dirty dishes sit there is one of the biggest mistakes people can make in terms of kitchen hygine, and one you might want to avoid.

Always keep a lookout for any signs of drain blockages, and keep the sink and surrounding area clean. Make sure to act quickly in case you see any signs of a drain blockage, and visit Morris Jenkins for details about what to do if you do suspect a blockage.

Signs can include starnge noises coming from the sink, water getting stuck or having a hard time passign through the drain, or frequent trouble with your sink in general. Drain blockages are pretty common, especially when you wash some or all of your dirty dishes by hand instead of in a dishwasher.

  1. Don’t Let Dirty Dishes Rest

The more you put off washing the dishes, the more work you’ll eventually have to do. It will also give your dirty dishes the opportunity to become hubs for bacteria and germs to grow and flourish, which eventually has a very bad effect on you and your family’s overall health and hygiene.

The ideal approach would be to make sure you wash your dishes every night.
