All you doggy-mums out there know that raising as puppy is pretty much the 2019 equivalent of raising a child. And because our fur-children deserve the best in the world —why not enjoy some doggy bonding time and celebrate London Dog Week at M Restaurants, one of the most dog-friendly restaurants in town.

To celebrate London Dog Week and what we are now coining as ‘Fur-Mamma’s Day’, M Restaurants are hosting a series of pawtastic events from the 24th to the 31th of March. Last Sunday, M Victoria kicked off with aFur-Mamma’s Day celebrations, as the restaurant was transformed into a relaxing pamper lounge for both pooches and paw-rents alike. Featuring pedicures, full body massages, and prosecco/pawsecco all around.

This weekend, TeamCocopup Charlie is headed to M Victoria for the London Dog Week Fashion Brunch, where four-legged fashionistas will be strutting their stuff and wagging their tails at M Victoria’s ‘dog walk’. The runway show will feature some of the most adorable designs from our favourite pet brands, modelled by some of London’s most renowned hounds. Fashion brunch attendees will also be able to shop the lines directly after the show at M Victoria’s ‘pup-up’ boutiques, while enjoying a delicious boozy brunch too. So watch this space for more sartorial puppy adventures and puppy puns — and definitely don’t miss out on the fashion brunch this Sunday! TeamCocopup Charlie will be happy to meet you.

Fashion Brunch Tickets at M Victoria are priced at £40pp and doors open from 11am-1pm then 2.30-4.30pm.

What better way to escape the city than to hop into a fast car and go on a road trip? Or better yet, a doggy road trip. Because there is definitely nothing better than conquering country-roads with your four-legged best friend, TeamCocopup Charlie embarked on a doggy road trip to the Cotswolds for a weekend at the beautiful Bruern Cottages with Premier Cottages.

First thing’s first — wheels. We booked our ride with Getaround, which is Europe’s leading car share platform. Getaround has over 50,000 cars in six countries, and we booked our car quite literally a block away from our house. No need for any very bureaucratic rental offices either — because we unlocked our car using our smartphones. How convenient is that?

We set off. Driving past the M1 and across the beautiful landscapes of Oxfordshire and into the finally into the stunning Bruern Cottages. Bruern Cottages is part of Premier Cottage’s curated selection of dog-friendly properties. Premier Cottages have a collection of over 400 pet friendly holiday homes, where owners go the extra mile to welcome your pampered pooches.

From the outside looking in, Bruern Cottages looks like it’s been lifted from a John Constable painting. In this real life tableau, you will find everything from a wisteria covered driveway, a calming indoor pool, a cosy games room, and a lovely courtyard where you can play some fetch with your pup.

TeamCocopup Charlie and I stayed in the lovely Saratoga cottage, which is filled with all of the quintessential charms of a luxury English cottage — and then some. It is everything you could ask for in a luxury cottage and more, and takes the word ‘self-catering’ to another level. Inside, it is wonderfully cosy, perfect for two guests (and a pup), and even has its own private garden aching for a midsummer barbecue.

The Saratoga cottage is filled with plenty of delightful details: from white cotton damask curtains to a flurry of soft pinks, blues, and beige textures that create a classically luxurious palette. Upstairs, there is a blue and white faux bamboo four poster bed. Further down the room, you’ll find the small but lovely bathroom which has a raised bath, heated towel rail and shaving point too. Safe to say — we made ourselves home right away.

Unlike other self-catering cottages, (where you have to make the required trek to the local shop to get the essentials), Bruern Cottages provides you with everything you need to truly enjoy your stay. In your cottage, you are greeted with an absolutely delicious welcome basket filled with the very best local produce. This includes six cackle bean eggs, fresh milk, bacon and sausages from the nearby Paddock farm, Holmleigh dairy butter, freshly baked bread, Bensons apple juice, preserves, a chocolate cake, and a lovely bottle of Chateau Siaurac 2009 shipped directly fro a French chateau. Fancy some bubbles? You can also call ahead and request a bottle of vintage Monopole Champagne, which offers hints of citrus, apple, and subtle vanilla. Now this is luxury self-catering unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

While it may seem counter-intuitive, venture out of your cottage and explore Bruern Cottages’ surrounding gardens. We promise that it’s definitely worth your while. The award-winning gardens at Bruern Cottages will make you forego driving anywhere else — and instead spend hours enjoying an idyllic picnic or taking photos in the grounds. Stroll through the Stable Yard and indulge in a game of croquet in the perfectly manicured lawn, walk through the roses, lilies, euphorbias, and clematis in the walled gardens, or gawk at the wisteria that is romantically draped over the arched driveways.

If you’re looking to explore outside of Bruern Cottages, there’s plenty to see within driving distance. Our favourite pit stop was the Cotswold Wildlife Park, which is a family run wildlife park that’s 100% dog-friendly. TeamCocopup Charlie got to meet some camels, giraffes, and even a rogue peacock that wandered into the cafeteria.

Alternatively, there are plenty of stately homes and coastal walks within driving distance too. But with all of the luxurious indulgences at your fingertips in Bruern Cottages – why would you ever leave?

Located in the heart of Spitalfields, The Gun London is a ‘classic’ London pub like you’ve never seen before. Occupying a former 17th century pub, and taken over by The East London Pub Company, The Gun London serves up everything from pints to champagne and all the ambiance you need whether you’re popping in for a casual boozy afternoon or a night out dancing.

On the second to the last day of Wimbledon, we ventured to The Gun London to try out a few of their Wimbledon specials ourselves, while watching Serena Williams and Simona Halep battle it out on the court to become the Wimbledon women’s singles champion.

First up — was the ‘Webley at Wimbledon’, which was a dusty pink conception that harks back to Wimbledon’s strawberries and cream aesthetic. The cocktail was a delicious mix of Bulldog Gin with Tequila Rose, strawberry liqueur, and Mozart white chocolate vanilla cream. Don’t let its sweet creamy flavour fool you, because this cocktail certainly packs a punch.

We followed this with a trio from The Gun London’s excellent crunchy bites menu. The fried chicken with Sriracha Mayo & Togarashi spices, the lamb croquettes with Montgomery cheddar & curried coconut yoghurt dip, and the corn & kale salad are all must-haves, and go perfectly with a glass of Rosé.

Our dessert followed the Wimbledon theme and we had the ‘Strawberries of All Sorts’ — a pink and white dessert made of smoked cream, vanilla, mint, and strawberries. The perfect way to end an afternoon of tennis — on a sweet note.

Now that Wimbledon is over, and you’re still in the mood for some pink coloured drinks – don’t fret because you can still enjoy The Gun London’s limited #RoseYourWay menu – which includes everything from champagne, sparkling and Belsazar frozé, and will be available all throughout summer!

Here at House of Coco, we’re love the occasional countryside escape, especially an escape that lets our four-legged friends tag along too. So – armed with a large glass of GNT, I write about my wonderful doggy retreat to The Eastbury Hotel in Dorset with TeamCocopup Charlie.

Located in the charming Abbey town of Sherborne, The Eastbury Hotel is where familiar home comforts and country elegance come together in perfect harmony. Exuding a wealth of west country charms, The Eastbury Hotel is a quintessential English countryside escape that will surely impress any guest — especially the four legged ones.

This handsome Georgian Townhouse dates back to 1740 and was originally built as a gentleman’s residence. It was recently refurbished in 2018, following the acquisition by Peter and Lana de Savary of the prestigious de Savary Group. Outside, its red brick facade harks back to its Georgian history, but inside it is a picture of classic luxury, with all the modern touches of a luxury boutique hotel.

The Eastbury Hotel has all the signatures of a de Savary property; from the timeless elegance of its interiors to the impeccable service of its staff. We made our way across the hotel’s beautiful walled garden and into our delightful Garden Deluxe Room. Four of the Garden Deluxe rooms are dog-friendly, and the hotel even provides luxury dog-bedding for your pampered pooches. Each of the 21 rooms is named after a traditional English flower; a reflection of the beautiful flowers and trees that occupy the hotel’s idyllic gardens. Inside, these spacious room is a home away from home, with Egyptian cotton sheets, a cosy seating area and a handsome wooden writing desk, accented by a window that overlooks the garden below.

We were lucky enough to have been met by gentle winds and plenty of sunshine during our visit, which gave TeamCocopup Charlie the opportunity to truly make the most of the walled gardens and the spacious lawn at the hotel. The terrace is the perfect spot for summer drinks and overlooks the lawn, where guests can also enjoy a game of croquet, badminton, table tennis — and a very large game of chess.

If you are looking to explore outside of the hotel, the charming town of Sherborne has plenty of things to discover. The 1000 year old Sherborne Abbey is just a 10 minute walk away, and thequaint cobblestoned streets are worth exploring as well. These streets are filled with charming independent boutiques, to hearty restaurants serving excellent British cuisine. Look out for the paw signs outside restaurants and bars — which means that pets are welcome. Dorset is as dog-friendly as can be (so much so they have their own local doggy magazine)! So there’s plenty of places for your pup to explore. We recommend checking out the beautiful garden landscapes of Sherborne Castle too.

There is no better way to end a day of exploring than with dinner at The Eastbury Hotel’s award-winning Seasons Restaurant. The restaurant has won 2 Rosettes for culinary excellence and it is easy to see why. Chef Matthew Street offers up a refreshing take on British classics and uses only the freshest local ingredients. All of the produce is sourced from local suppliers, and the herbs come directly from the gardens.

As we bid goodbye to the beautiful Eastbury Hotel its cosy rooms, the calming sanctuary of its gardens, and the wonderful staff that have made our stay truly special — we’re already dreaming of our return to The Eastbury.

In a world filled with fake news and shambolic politics, there is nothing better than coming home to the wagging tail of your puppy. According to a recent study, 44% of millennials consider their fur-babies children, and so treat them as such! Millennials only want the best for their pets — and so look for pet products that are BPA-free, cruelty free, ethical, and natural. The fur-baby economy is real people — so get with the PAWrogram.

On a rainy spring Sunday, TeamCoco pup Charlie made his way to the Double Tree by Hilton to attend the inaugural doggy brunch at Savage Garden. What pup-tactic debauchery ensues? Read on to find out.

With 360 degree views of the city, opulent decor, and a stylish outdoor deck, Savage Garden is undeniably one of London’s best rooftop bars. You can only imagine our excitement, when we were told that Savage Garden London was opening its doors to pups and pooches all over the city for a very special doggy brunch — and it definitely did not disappoint.

In the lobby of the Double Tree Hilton, Charlie TeamCocopup Gillies met up with fellow TeamCoco pup Stanley Delf, for an unforgettable afternoon of doggy brunch. We all made our way up the elevatorand into Savage Garden’s swanky entrance hall, where we were immediately greeted with VIP treatment. (that’s Very-Important-Pooch treatment) The doggy brunch was launched in collaboration with British pet accessory brand, Hiro + Wolf, who treated the furry VIPs with a bag of treats and goodies.

Inside, there were pooches a plenty, as the VIPS made their ways to their respective tables. Amidst Savage Garden’s opulent decor and stunning views of the Tower of London, puppies and parents alike were chatting away, and taking in the lush scenery. Once we all settled in, we enjoyed some of Savage Garden’s perfectly crafted cocktails, while perusing their contemporary brunch menu. We recommend the ‘Flambard Colada,’ a rum and pineapple conception inspired by the Tower of London’s first prisoner, Ranulf Flambard. The ‘Horny Beast’ is also a great option for gin lovers, as this Beefeater Pink gin number is delicious, and also certainly packs the punch.

On the food front, the menu is as innovative as it is delicious, and is far removed from a traditional brunch menu as can be. We tried the Panko chicken cutlet, and the beetroot salmon, with a side of Plantain chips — a seemingly random combination of food, but all working together in perfect harmony. A testament to the excellence of Savage Garden’s kitchen crew. Don’t think that the pooches were left out, because Charlie and Stanley also got to enjoy their own organic cupcakes, which were so good even the paper got eaten.

Serendipitously, we ended up sitting beside the Double Tree Hilton’s General Manager, and her own adorable pooch. We talked about how the idea for the doggy brunch stemmed from her love of her own dog, and it became exceedingly clear why this particular doggy brunch has been so well executed. It’s because it’s something that came from theheart of a loving paw-rent too.

The next Savage Garden Doggy Brunch will take place on Sunday May 5, 2019. To reserve your table visit www.savagegarden.co.uk or call 020 7709 1043.

People love dogs. Some like spending time with them for companionship, while others use them as seeing eyes for the blind and for other tasks. You also have dog trainers who get their canine companions ready for competitions and sporting events.

Acana Pet Foods is one example of a brand that makes dog food for canines that compete in sporting events. There are some other companies that do this as well.

If you’re going to enter a dog in a competition, though, you probably want to know what the best nutrition is for that type of endeavor. We’ll talk about that in the following article.

No Two Dog Breeds Are Alike

It would be a simple matter if there were a single kind of dog food that was recommended for competitive or sporting dogs. It would also simplify things if there were a single protein source that was agreed upon by vets and trainers as providing the best nutrition, like chicken or turkey.

In reality, though, that’s not the case. Since various dog breeds have different characteristics, it’s virtually impossible to say that a particular style of food or one that contains a certain ingredient is superior. There are still some rules that you can follow if you want the best nutrition for your sporting dog, though.

Food for Coat and Skin Quality

If you have a dog you’re entering in a competition, and you want their skin and coat to look as healthy as possible, you will want a high-end dog food that contains amino acids. The best choice will be a kind of food with Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids.

You can find some dog foods with these ingredients that are breed-specific. If you can’t find a food to match the breed, though, you can get one that has Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids that is intended for a small, medium-sized, or large dog, depending on what you have.

Food for Obedience

As someone training dogs for competition, you might be surprised to know there are foods that might make a dog more mindful of its trainer. What you’re looking for in that situation is a kind of dog food that promotes mental alertness. A dog who is more mentally alert can learn how to follow your commands better.

You’ll want food with the fatty acid DHA. It’s found in the milk of nursing dogs, and it promotes brain health.

Food for Agility Challenges

Many dog competitions have agility challenges for your pooch. If you want a food that will help them in this area, you’ll need one that has high levels of fat and protein.

High-energy dogs need fat to give them quick energy that they can burn off quickly as they go through obstacle courses. They also need protein for muscle development.

If you keep these factors in mind, you should be able to locate the right kind of food for your sporting or competition dog. You can talk to their vet about it as well.

Our gal Hannah Tan-Gillies and roving doggy rePAWter TeamCocopup Charlie checked into the Kimpton Fitzroy London for a stylish dog friendly staycation that pulled out all the stops.

Undoubtedly one of London’s most luxurious addresses, everyone certainly knows about the Kimpton Fitzroy. But did you know that the hotel offers a whole menu of luxury pet pampering services too?

In April, Kimpton Fitzroy teamed up with luxury dog-walking and day-care company The Hound Hut to offer VIP guests (very important pooches) a truly elevated hotel experience. With this, hotel guests can book royal pampering and dog walks around Bloomsbury straight with the hotel’s concierge team. The services include two to three hour walks and even day care services.

We love that there are no size, weight or breed restrictions for pets at the Kimpton Fitzroy – which goes to show how deep their pet-friendly policies go. Plus, TeamCocopup Charlie is allowed in many common areas including the lobby and Burr & Co. These incredible pet-friendly policies can be attributed to the hotel’s adorable Director of Pet Relations Winston, who (if you’re lucky) may be there to welcome you with a paw and tail wag.

Our stay began with cocktails at Burr & Co, an all-day pub/café concept which is the perfect spot to enjoy a welcome cocktail or get work done in front of leafy Russell Square.

We stayed in one of the elegant one bedroom suites, which boasted some incredible park views of Russell Square. The spacious suites feature a separate sitting area, a gorgeous four poster king-sized bed, a beautiful balcony and Nespresso machine and tea facilities. There is also a dog bed, dog bowls and treats for Charlie – which he absolutely adored.

The crowning jewel of the suite has to be the bathroom which is as Instagrammable as they come. Here, you will find his and hers sinks and a roll top tub – complete with a separate walk in shower.

Upon arriving to the room, we were greeted with an absolutely scrumptious vegan chocolate cake, which is a testament to the quality of service at Kimpton Fitzroy. I informed the hotel in advance of my dietary requirements and so the cake was an absolutely brilliant little treat.

Dinner was served at Galvin Bar & Grill, which is a modern-day twist on a classic British bar and grill as envisioned by Michelin-starred brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin. The opulent dining room is a sight to behold as is the menu – which will undoubtedly tantalise your taste buds.

For starters, you cannot go wrong with the Carlingford rock oysters nor the Dorset Crab & Piquillo pepper croquettes – which perfectly exemplify the simple, yet Michelin-star quality of the Galvin brothers’ cooking.

We went all out and ordered the Tomahawk Steak for two, which was succulent, perfectly charred and seasoned. Paired with the hotel’s fabulous selection of red wines, this meal was certainly one for the books.

We ended our evening at Fitz’s, a handsome bar lounge that boasts plenty of ambiance. Picture dark wood interiors, Art Deco velvet banquettes and an air of sophistication all around. Fitz’s was named after Charles Fitzroy Doll, the original architect of the Kimpton Fitzroy London. Its ‘Theory of Colour’ Menu offers 14 carefully crafted cocktails inspired by different works of art. It is a multi-sensory treat and the best way to end an evening at Kimpton Fitzroy.

As we tuck in for the night, with Charlie sleeping soundly in his luxury dog bed and I in the cosy comforts of my four poster bed – it became clear that Kimpton Fitzroy London has mastered the art of luxury hospitality not just for two-legged guests but for four-legged ones too.

Our girl Hannah Tan-Gillies and intrepid doggy rePAWter TeamCocopup Charlie went for a blissful solo getaway to Burleigh Court, a Cotswolds Hideaway that’s anything but ordinary.

Burleigh Court is a chic four-star boutique manor hotel, housed in a Grade II listed manor, that is surrounded by captivating Cotswolds countryside in Stroud. The hotel, which has one of the most beautiful views of Stroud’s Golden Valley, foregoes the sometimes stuffy environs of other manor house hotels and instead opts for a vibe that is elegant, warm and inviting. Imagine staying in one of the lush country manors ala Bridgerton – minus all the pomp and circumstance.

Burleigh Court invites guests to go slow and escape the busyness of their everyday lives and get lost amidst beautiful Cotswolds countryside walks, in-room spa treatments and of course delicious food. There are plenty of cosy corners to enjoy a book, read or work – with the outdoor garden being the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a glass of Rosé.

The best thing about Burleigh Court? It is that it is fabulously dog friendly. TeamCocopup Charlie was welcomed in most of the public spaces, with a dedicated area for doggy diners in the restaurant too. He absolutely loved exploring Burleigh Court’s expansive grounds and going on leisurely walks in the surrounding countryside.

Burleigh Court has 18, individually designed rooms with pet-friendly accommodation available in an adjacent coach house. Our room was incredibly spacious tastefully designed and ideally located in front of the grounds – perfect for late night doggy business. There was a dog bed, dog bowls and some treats too – which Charlie more than appreciated. The room décor was a love letter to Cotswolds charm and featured plenty of well-loved knick knacks, rich tapestries and even a delightful wall mural.

The food at Burleigh Court is definitely worth shouting about. The hotel has an award-winning two-rosette restaurant which maximises the flavours of locally sourced pr ingredients from the Gloucestershire countryside and the hotels’ own vegetable garden. Led by renowned British Chef Shaun Jones, every dish will make your taste buds tingle. Even more so when accompanied by one of the many vintages in the hotel’s impressive collection.

There is patio fireside dining, afternoon tea and a delectable dinner menu We loved the white asparagus and wild garlic dish and the trio of spring lamb which combined tender sous vide lamb and spiced lamb belly and served with punchy sagaloo potatoes and bunched carrots. Perfectly cooked and still memorable to this day.

After a whirlwind few months on the go, travelling to all corners of the world, this writer certainly needed that soul-enriching, life-affirming solo stay at Burleigh Court Cotswolds. From the warm hospitality of the staff, delicious food and beautiful Cotswolds countryside – there’s no better way to recharge than in this magical Cotswolds hideaway. When life once again gets away from us, we shall certainly be back.

A stylish collar is an essential item for your dog in 2023. There are various brands of smart collars available today, but I recommend just the Halo Collar because of its reliability and safety.

A famous dog trainer, Cesar Millan, invented a new type of fencing that triggers an alarm whenever a dog approaches it. After reading this Halo Collar review, I am confident that you will have decided whether or not to buy a wireless dog fence.

Let’s get started!

What is Halo Dog Collar?

The Halo Dog Collar is the most reliable and secure of all the wireless dog fence options available.

Your dog will always be secure with Halo, thanks to its cutting-edge GPS tracking and alerting capabilities. The simple Halo app allows you to control anything.

The Halo 2+ collar is the most recent model from the manufacturer, combining an invisible fence and a shock collar in a single device controlled by an innovative wireless GPS tracker.

Halo 2+ Collar Innovative Features

Smart Geo-Fencing

Training designed by Cesar Milan himself

Activity tracking

GPS/GNSS tracking

App for alerts, etc.

Halo Dog Collar Design

  1. The Halo Dog Collar is available in multiple sizes to accommodate many dog breeds. Any dog weighing over 20 pounds with a neck circumference between 11 and 30.5 inches can wear this collar.
  2. The unique strap features a non-slip grip and can be adjusted to a secure but comfortable fit around your dog’s neck.
  3. The Halo Dog Collar is only one example of a non-adjustable tech collar; if you buy the wrong size, you could have a serious problem.
  4. The gadgetry included within the hue is cushioned not to cause discomfort to your dog. The Halo Collar is so comfy that your dog may even nap.
  5. The Halo Dog Collar comes in either black or white, and its style is elegant and fashionable. Now your dog may be secure and stylish at the same time!
  6. The collar can resist being submerged in water up to three feet deep for an extended time, making it largely waterproof. The Halo Collar GPS will continue to work even if your dog swims in the pool or plays in the sprinklers.
  7. A full day, or about 16 hours, of use from the collar’s battery, is possible. This is plenty for many pet owners, as the collar may be charged overnight while their pet sleeps.

Halo Dog Collar Functioning

The Halo Collar GPS keeps your dog in the right area by using precise Prevention Feedback, without causing any pain or electric shocks. If your dog gets too close to the wireless fence’s boundary, they receive a warning and are encouraged to return to safety.

Once they’re back in the safe zone, the feedback stops. Instead of using pain, the collar emits a sound to guide your dog within the designated area. If your dog goes beyond the authorized boundary, the collar produces a dog whistle sound, which works well for dogs responsive to sounds.

You can adjust the volume, vibration, and static of the Prevention Feedback to match your dog’s sound sensitivity. Plus, the collar features a customizable Halo LED light, which enhances visibility at night.

Halo Dog Collar Range

You may build up to 20 boundaries with the Halo smart collar’s app or walk on the appropriate perimeter with the collar. It is much like invisible fence technology but with far more advanced features.

You must be happy that the app will inform you immediately of any changes to your dog’s status about your established boundaries. This smart collar combines GPS/GNSS technology, the current position of which is always displayed on a mobile application, to provide dog location and reporting.

Halo Dog Collar Subscriptions

You can always stay in touch with your dog and know exactly where they are, thanks to the three different subscription plans available for the Halo collar.

The three packages are named respectively “basic,” “silver,” and “gold.” The collar’s Access and features depend on the subscription plan you select. The benefits customers get from this high-tech collar justify the cost to them.

Halo Dog Collar Pricing

The Halo Dog Collar price is $1000. It is important to determine whether or not it is worth the money rather than just cheap.

The fact that they have more than 10,000 users in only the United States indicates that they must be doing something really great.

Final Note

The innovative technology that allows for multiple fencing and live tracking is great, but the complimentary training courses that come with the Halo collar are even better.

The Halo collar is a remarkable example of technological advancement. The Halo Dog Collar and Fence are ideal if you want to keep an eye on your pet but want to avoid investing in a traditional fence.

The Halo collar for dogs gives your pet the freedom it deserves without sacrificing obedience.
