Coco Business Inspiration : Bubble Bros

It’s no secret that we love Prosecco here at House of Coco, so when we heard about Bubble Bros and their Prosecco van we were more than a little bit excited. In a previous life, founders Ben and Joe worked long hours together in a London advertising agency. To escape the monotony of the Madmen life they would spend their summers attending as many festivals as physically possible. The Prosecco van was actually the brainchild of Joe’s wife, Lucy. On one sunny afternoon at Wilderness Festival she overheard someone shout “If only there was somewhere to get a cold glass of Prosecco around here…!” Then Bubble Bros was born.

When did you launch the brand and what was the reason behind it?
We launched Bubble Bros and the first Prosecco Van in summer 2015. We both love festivals, bubbly and messing around with interesting vehicles, so something like this was inevitable. It was actually Joe’s wife Lucy who first suggested that we combine all our passions into one ridiculous venture.

Whats your background?
We worked for the same advertising agency many years ago. Ben was an account director and Joe worked in the creative department. That’s how we met and it was a mixture of working together and partying together that led to us eventually going into business together.

How many people are involved in the company and what are their roles?
We (Ben and Joe) are currently the partners in the business. We have a lovely team who help pour bubbly at private parties, festivals and events. We also have a very important project manager/personal assistant/logistics manager named Chloe. And a designer/art director, who makes everything look lovely.

If you could start over with the business, would you do anything differently?
Not really. We’ve enjoyed a really good start. Maybe we could have worn bowties to our events. Ben looks really good in a bowtie.

What is the hardest challenge you have faced since you started the company?
Not getting frustrated by copycats. We have had to learn that when people try and replicate what you’re doing it means you are doing it right and shouldn’t be something to get hot and bothered about. It helps keep you on your toes and makes you more focused for the future.

Tell us one fact about you that people wouldn’t know?
Ben has a Marathon Guinness world record (Most people to complete a marathon tied together).

2016 is here, where do you plan on taking the brand?
Everywhere. More vehicles more, parties, more weddings, more festivals and more Prosecco.

To date, what has been the highlight since launching?
Serving bubbly to heavy metal fans, from our tiny little Prosecco van, at the main stage of Download Festival, in the rain, as Black Sabbath headlined. Life changing.

Which city do you feel most at home in, London, Paris or New York?
London. (Bristol, really)

Three beauty products you can’t leave the house without?
Prosecco. Ham Sandwich. Lip-gloss.

Style means….?
Italy.

Best thing about London to you?
The pubs.

Statement shoe or statement bag?
Walking boot and Tinct (tinct-uk.com) satchel.

If you had to, what piece of clothing from your wardrobe would you wear everyday?
Pants.

Favourite love song?
Freaky with you – Another Level. It was Joe & his wife, Lucy’s first dance.

Best place for a coffee?
Sunday morning at home.

Most memorable piece of advice given to you?
If you have to be there for your business to run, you’ve created a job, not a business.
