When did you launch the brand and what was the reason behind it?
Prior to Muemma, we launched the Private Label for a large Flash-Sales eCommerce company in Munich. Soon after it became the largest European online Home & Living club. They had beautiful household products to offer their customers however, in the electronic sector, products always looked out of place. We decided the electronic industry needed to be reimagined for the Home. After 11 months of design and development, we launched our first product, the ARiNA Interior Bluetooth speaker early 2016.

Whats your background?
As a son of a shoemaker, I was closely involved with pattern making, manufacturing and design at a young age. In 2005, I received a degree in Industrial Design and since produced multiple award winning products. The fascination of creating something of value from nothing interests me; the process of getting there engulfed me.


If you could start over with the business, would you do anything differently?
To be organised down to every detail and build solid processes. In the beginning, you tend to focus on the important things such as product, sales and traction. However, the more organized you are from the start, the less you have to fix later.

What is the hardest challenge you have faced since you started the company?
Allocate and budget for time. Most people underestimate how long it takes to build a brand and bring products to market. You need to work hard, make smart decisions and above all, be patient.

2016 is almost done, where do you plan on taking the brand next year?
The brand is only as exciting as the next design you uncover. We have some wonderful tech furniture to get people connected coming early 2017.

To date, what has been the highlight since launching?
We launched a campaign mid year directed at the Home& Living industry and had unbelievable sales in this sector. This was the proof point of our vision, “making lifestyle products smart & technology fashionable.”

In the future, how do you plan on expanding the company?
We feel the future is only going to get more connected. There is a high demand for well-designed tech products, which integrate seamlessly in our homes. We want to continue expanding our collection in this market, designing smart products with a touch of nostalgia.
