Coco Christmas Gift Guide for Men

The other day I posted a tweet making fun of men and their bewildered faces as they attempt to Christmas shop for the women in their lives. Well, I’m not so funny now that I’m trying to buy gifts for the men in my family. Is it just me or are guys incredibly difficult to buy for? I swear if they don’t like FIFA or have a hipster coffee addiction then they fall into a category of guys who have a ‘just get me whatever’ Christmas wish list. If you’ve got a difficult man in your life who doesn’t give you any indication as to what he’d like to see under the tree on Christmas morning, yet still turns his nose up at what you’ve bought for him, then slap a label on one of the awesome gifts on this Christmas list.

‘Autumn Moon over Glengoyne’ – limited edition, £35.49

Perfect for those who like to sit back and enjoy a dram, Glengoyne Distillery have partnered with John Lowrie Morrison to create a collection of seasonal paintings inspired by the distillery.

And what about that dram? The 10-year-old has fresh green apples, toffee and a hint of nuttiness. This is the taste of distilling slower than anyone else in Scotland, of barley we dry by air – never peat – and of oak casks we select by hand. Just as we’ve always done.

Mr Black, £36

While we’re on the boozy gift ideas, we’d like to suggest Mr. Black for those partial to a cocktail or two. Mr. Black is an artisanal coffee liqueur made with specialty coffee. It’s delicious over ice but also adds an amazing twist to classic cocktails such as negronis and old fashioned. You can, of course, also make the mother of all espresso martinis with the stuff.
