Here at House of Coco, we are always on the hunt for a new countryside getaway, we live for those long strolls and fresh air. With the recent arrival of baby ‘Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’, what better time to visit beautiful Windsor than now? Two days prior to the royal arrival, we stayed at ‘Gilbeys’ and what a beautiful hotel it is.

Located a stones throw from the centre, and of course the iconic Windsor castle,it is the perfect hotel for a weekend get away, and close enough to walk after a few cocktails after a night out as you’re surrounded by fab bars such as ‘All Bar One’ and ‘Bill’s’.

From the outside, ‘Gilbeys’ looked deceivingly small, but once we stepped inside, we were blown away by the beautiful colour schemes and large dining rooms that perfectly captured the natural sunlight. They also have a new beautiful private dining room with its own cactus room for larger parties that we were kindly shown around, it’s stunning!

We were then treated to dinner and cocktails and unsurprisingly, the food and drinks were absolutely delicious! We tasted some of the best Scallops we’ve ever had and the whisky sour was also one of the best we’ve had. All three dishes were incredibly tasty and the waiting staffwere both very knowledgeable and helpful with helping us decide what to order from the menu.

We were super excited to go to bed as the bedrooms are so stylish with large windows, high ceilings and an overall great design. Our room almost had a Moroccan feel with lots of small, beautifully shaped mirrors dotted around and a beautiful large orange head board. The room was also full of nice touches that made it feel very luxurious, such as a Nespresso machine and with a choice of pods and all products in the bathroom were ‘White Company’, contributing to a very premium feel.

In the morning, we had croissants and coffee overlooking Eton High Street before we set off. It was the perfect stay, in a fantastic location. So, if you’re heading to Windsor in the hope of seeing Baby Archie, or simply for a night away, look no further than ‘Gilbey’s’, you will not be disappointed.
