Johnnie Walker

Johnnie Walker has put together some amazing cocktails to enjoy this summer, including the Johnnie Walker & Ginger and the Johnnie & Elderflower.

Johnnie & Ginger

Johnnie Walker has collaborated with Josh Katz, head bartender at London’s coolest grill house Berber & Q, to bring a Berber twist to the classic Johnnie Walker & Ginger, perfect for outdoor dining. This pre-dinner cocktail is a great way to kick off a barbecue and brings out the flavours in spicy, grilled meat dishes.

We’re also loving the Johnnie & Elderflower. A simple, elegant and extremely summery cocktail. All recipes below.

Available from all high street supermarkets, also available from www.thewhiskyexchange.com. Priced at around £30 per bottle (70cl, 40%, Black Label).

Theodore Pictish Gin

The first release from Greenwood Distillers, Theodore is a new Scottish gin inspired by the spirit of the Picts, an ancient tribe that once settled near the brand’s home in the Northern Highlands.

Created with guidance from perfume designer, Barnabé Fillion, the gin features 16 botanicals inspired by those that the Picts may have encountered on their travels to Scotland from as far as Scythia and Scandinavia. Key botanicals include pomelo, pine, damask rose, honey and oolong tea, creating a fresh and elegant gin with a floral heart and warm, rich finish.

Theodore & Tonic

Simply serve as a T&T, Theodore & Tonic in a tall glass with a mix of herbs and apple slices to enjoy.

Theodore Gin is available to buy now for £39.95 (70cl, 43%) or £45.00 with gift box from www.theodore-gin.com, The Whisky Exchange, Master of Malt and DrinkSupermarket.

Manchester Gin

Multi award-winning distillery Manchester Gin has launched a new flavour to its core range – FAC51 The Haçienda.

Manchester Gin

A simple tall glass of FAC51 The Haçienda Gin mixed with Tonic and a slice of lime is all you need for this perfect summer drink.

The spirit is newly launched, and for a limited time only, it has a Haçienda inspired label, making it hugely unique. The gin flavour and design was created in partnership with legend Peter Hook, formerly part of Joy Division and New Order, and its zesty flavour is a nod to the city’s iconic acid house scene.

Available from www.manchestergin.co.uk, C&C Wines, Quoff, Harvey Nichols, and www.houseofmalt.co.uk, priced at £36 (50ml 42% vol).

The House of Suntory Haku Vodka

Created from Japanese ingredients by the master artisans at the House of Suntory, the Founding House of Japanese Whisky, Haku Vodka represents the nature and spirit of Japan. This premium spirit embodies Suntory founder Shinjiro Torii’s philosophy of monozukuri craftsmanship: a relentless pursuit of perfection, meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Haku-Hi Cocktail

Serve simply as a Haku-Hi Cocktail, with chilled soda and fresh lemon peel for the ideal summer drink.

Available from Waitrose stores across the UK. Priced at £35 per bottle (700ml, 40% ABV).

Feragaia Alcohol-Free Spirit

This brand new alcohol-free spirit is a delightful alternative to a boozey drink, and the team at Feragaia suggest that enjoying a glass on the rocks, or with a light tonic is the perfect match.
Feragaia is Scotland’s first premium alcohol-free spirit made from land and sea botanicals. It is progressively distilled, blended and bottled in the far reaches of the Scottish Lowlands.

Feragaia on the Rocks

True to its name, meaning ‘Wild Earth’, Feragaia (fer-a-guy-a) is a product, of windswept coastlines, open country and creative minds. Its character lends itself to a refreshing summer aperitif come rain or shine.

From a pallet perspective it opens with citrus from blackcurrant leaf, kaffir lime and lemon verbena. A drawn-out herbaceous body is then introduced with nuances of chamomile, pink peppercorn and seaweed. This takes you all the way to a light smokey note and lengthy, warming finish from cayenne pepper.

Available from Mac & Wild in London Fitzrovia and Devonshire Square, also via www.feragaia.com, priced at £23.99 (50cl).
