If you thought the nightlife in Leeds couldn’t get any hotter, then think again. It’s about to get red hot…

Call Lane has long been the beating heart of the city’s nightlife scene, and there’s a new kid in town who promises to bring some fire to the party. Having enjoyed success with bars in Chester and Liverpool, Red Door are heading up north armed to the teeth with an enticing cocktail menu that’s set to impress.

The 200-capacity bar will reside in the space previously occupied by Hirst’s Yard, and will be unveiled at the late August launch with a slick new design. Expect a space that mixes faded glamour with a dash of neon sleaze, reminiscent of a US dive bar and an eclectic soundtrack that will switch between soul, funk, disco RnB, pop and live music.

As well as classic tunes, you can of course expect some classic cocktails of premium quality too. Each bar tender will be trained to mix up no less than 100 classic cocktails, as well as 20 bespoke Red Door creations.

Decadent creations
The Maya Blossom is a cool, blue beauty that blends Ketel One Citron Vodka with a delicate combination of peach, elderflower and lemon, whilst the Disco Diva is an eye-catching number that combines vodka with vanilla liquor, strawberry, cranberry and apple.

For a contemporary spin on an old favourite, try the decadent Espresso Jalisco. Featuring Something to Wake Me Up & F**k Me Up (Kate Moss) Patron XO, vanilla, vodka and coffee, if it’s good enough for a supermodel, it’s good enough for us.

The Breaking Badass does exactly what it says on the tin, consisting of a tasty Appleton Rum punch, which also features Cointreau, cinnamon, nutmeg, almond syrup, grapefruit, pineapple and lime. Cooked up before your very eyes, and sprinkled with crystal blue persuasion, it’s a heady brew that Walter White would be proud to put his name to.

Mike Tyson of cocktails
If you’re going all out with your crew for a night to remember, then look no further than the Zombie Sharer. Not for the faint of heart, it combines Bacardi, Goslings 151, Absinthe, Rhum Orange, Luxardo Maraschino, passion fruit and pink grapefruit to create what we like to call the Mike Tyson of cocktails.

Red Door was launched back in 2010 by the late, great Living Ventures boss, Tim Bacon, along with Chester entrepreneur Dave Hinds and Liverpool-born cocktail virtuoso Lee Lynch. Since then, the Chester and Liverpool bars have gone from strength-to-strength, with the latter becoming something of a celeb-spotting haunt, with a host of footballers and pop stars walking through its hallowed Red Door.

Lee Lynch, Managing Directorsaid “We are majorly excited to bring Red Door to Leeds. There is such a great cocktail scene and some really cool bars, we think Red Door will fit right in. I was part of the team that opened Prohibition and Living Room back in the day and I know people in Leeds can party. I believe Red Door will bring a new vibrancy to Call Lane and certainly shake things up.”

Red Door Leeds will officially open on Friday 25th August..
