Bil and Sid is all about small collections of beautiful things in modest batches. Taking their time to redefine the classics one by one. Smelling flowers, eating scrumptious foods and sipping rosé along the way, a company after our own heart.
Here, we speak to founder Linds to find out more about the brand, her plans for the future and so much more…
When did you launch the brand and what was the reason behind it?
It only launched officially this year. May 2017. I just wanted to make/find things that I liked and that were nice. I liked the idea of curating a lifestyle through specific products and ideas. I’m still building it. Our Beverly fedora is just the beginning.
How many people are involved in the company and what are their roles?
It’s just me so I do everything…
If you could start over with the business, would you do anything differently?
Ask me again in a few years!
What is the hardest challenge you have faced since you started the company?
Learning curves and work / family life balance. Those two are no joke.
Tell us one fact about you that people wouldn’t know?
I have never worked in the “fashion” industry before launching bil & sid.
2017 is here, where do you plan on taking the brand?
We are opening a custom ribbon shop and adding a few more products. We also have a lifestyle guide/blog coming out in the fall. Lots of pretty things are coming.
Which city do you feel most at home in, London, Paris or New York?
I have lived in both London and NYC. I love so many things about London but for me it’s NYC.
Three beauty products you can’t leave the house without?
1. Hands down top fav is Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint – it’s really the only “make up” I wear – I like the natural look.
3. Scents by Fresh – right now I use their Sugar Lychee. I wish they would bring back Mangosteen! I loved that one.
Finding what works for you and being confident in that.
Best thing about London to you?
Great hotel bars
Statement shoe or statement bag?
How can you pick?? It would have to be a bag! I love bags.
If you had to, what piece of clothing from your wardrobe would you wear everyday?
Cutoff jeans – I wear these a lot…
Favourite love song?
Anything from Coldplay
Best place for a coffee?
Workshop Coffee on Clerkenwell Rd. in London. It used to be called St. Ali when I was a regular.
Most memorable piece of advice given to you?
Be a nice human.
Cheesecake or Margaritas – not usually together!
If you could spent 24 hours in anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I love sitting poolside with a great view of the ocean. Anywhere I can find that, I will be happy.
