Designer Spotlight : Gilda Mazza Bijoux

Gilda Mazza is the brainchild behind Gilda Mazza Bijoux, an accessories brand that creates pieces that represent her personality.

She spent some time with us at House of Coco to tell us more…

When did you launch the brand and what was the reason behind it?
“Gilda Mazza Bijoux” brand was born in 2013 as a joke (for fun): I wanted to challenge myself and to test my hidden creativity level, never expressed.

Whats your background?
I spent more than 20 years in fashion market as window dresser, HR manager and commercial manager. Also involved in runway shows and fashion events in Genoa, my home town.

How many people are involved in the company and what are their roles?
I’m completely alone in my company at the moment, I’m performing the following roles: buyer for jewellery materials, bijoux designer, website and social manager and DSE daily shop events planner, during which I exhibit and sell my jewels.

If you could start over with the business, would you do anything differently?
Not at all, it was a fantastic journey and it will be much better going forward.

What is the hardest challenge you have faced since you started the company?
The hardest challenge is against myself: I try to improve my bijoux in order to hit (meet) my clients style and needs

I truly believe in working hard

Which city do you feel most at home in, London, Paris or New York?
New York for several reasons. You can go there for business or to relax, from culture to sports and you can mix it up to a unique recipe!

Style means….?
Way of being. In particular, more internal and emotional than external and frivolous

Definitely bag, where I can bring with me all my bijoux!

If you had to, what piece of clothing from your wardrobe would you wear everyday?

Home sweet home

Most memorable piece of advice given to you?
At work, when I was young.

If you could spent 24 hours in anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Hollywood Boulevard, no needs to explain why!

In future, how do you plan on expanding the company?
To be helped, at least, by another person: the only way to grow is to be able to produce more in less time, allowing me to focus more on Sales.
