Designer Spotlight : Karo Swimwear

Kasia Roginska is the creative brainchild behind Karo Swimwear, here she takes the reigns and talks to us at House of Coco about her plans for the future, what style means to her and more on her guilty pleasures…
Karo swimwear was born January 2013 as a handmade, custom bejeweled line, made to order and  also sizes were customisable.  My dad, who taught me how to sew as a young child for my dolls and pushed me to fashion school passed away in October of 2012 and the idea of creating something just came after a few weeks of him passing, this helped to fill the emptiness inside of me. At first it was mostly a hobby but after a while I decided to push it forward.
I’m originally from the most beautiful city on Mother Earth, Kraków Poland. I came with my parents and brother to the USA in 1994 and I’m residing still to this day. As I mentioned I went to fashion school in Poland and after graduation we moved to the States. I didn’t follow my career until I decided to give swimwear a chance

The company consists of only myself as owner and designer. Lately I’ve been working with a PR company based in Miami, also with an amazing celebrity stylist In California. I began manufacturing some pieces in Brazil while the beading is still handmade by me. In the future I’m looking to branch out and maybe start to produce pieces in my homeland.
If I had to start over now, I would know much more I believe and would start promoting myself differently from day one, but as I mentioned it was a hobby first with no set goals.
The toughest thing since launching the business might be Obstacles? I face these everyday. That’s the Beauty of every business. Competition maybe, people trying to copy ideas? But I keep up with new ideas to make this brand unique and high end.
One fact about me?
Maybe that as a teen in Poland I was obsessed with British group Depeche Mode? I even cut my hair short like David Gahan and dressed up as him as well!
Goals for 2015… Recovering after child birth, my newest addition is 3 months old.
Im planning on either using a manufacturer in Poland or maybe locally in the USA so I can have control on QC and train people on the art of jewellery making for the suits. A great friend of mine taught me that, and she still helps me a lot.
There’s many goals, taking each one by one.

The highlight was initially my big NYFW show! What a rush and amazing experience! Then designing a suit for the beautiful Polish and American celebrity Joanna Krupa, and finally my latest highlight was British Vogue contacting me to feature in their advertorial page. All amazing and rewarding experiences.
I guess NYCity is my home now
I can’t live without…Eyeliner, mascara, light foundation ( I’m pale as a ghost :))
Never been to London but it’s on my bucket list
I do love LV or Louboutin, who doesn’t? But for me, sexy stilettos and oversized bag will do!
Favourite piece of wardrobe?
