La Vie Company was established in 2008 by Venia & Nansy Lambropoulou, and since then it has developed a series of impressive, unique jewel collections.
The designs have been influenced by her travels, street style, pop culture and the idea of timeless design.
Here, we went behind the brand and spoke to Nansy to find out more…
When did you launch the brand and what was the reason behind it?
La Vie Jewelry is a recently launched fine & costume jewelry line based in Athens Greece. We debuted the line in December 2010. The name was inspired by the French words “la vie” which means “life” and a play on words with my own initials, “L.V.“ Jewelry has always had a story to tell and a life of it’s own to me. Accessories speak for themselves; they are able to draw out emotions and are a way of keeping memories alive.
Whats your background?
I come from a family of jewelers, my parents worked with fine jewelry for over 45 years and now my sister and I have carried on the tradition as second-generation jewelers. I grew up surrounded by beautiful accessories, which inspired me and led me to study interior design and 3D jewelry design. You could say that jewelry and design was in my blood from a very young age.
How many people are involved in the company and what are their roles?
La Vie jewelry is family-owned company. My father is the technical manager of our fine jewelry production, my mother manages the stock flow and accounting and my sister Nansy Lambropoulou handles our marketing, sales and client development.
If you could start over with the business, would you do anything differently?
I believe that everything truly happens for a reason, even mistakes – sometimes mistakes are our greatest opportunities for growth and learning, so no I wouldn’t change a thing.
What is the hardest challenge you have faced since you started the company?
The tough competition and array of talented jewelry designers.
Tell us one fact about you that people wouldn’t know?
I am quite the cook, I really enjoy whipping up delicious meals and culinary treats in my free time.
2016 is here, where do you plan on taking the brand?
This year I plan on continuing to produce new collections and elevating the brand. We are finalising a new fine jewelry collection with a strong influence of Greek aesthetics. Our main priority is to establish the brand internationally.
To date, what has been the highlight since launching?
For me, the most rewarding times are when I read articles about the brand in international press. That always leaves me with a sense of accomplishment, when I have seen my work in Vogue, Elle, Marie-Claire, to name a few.
