Designer Spotlight : Naomi Davies Jewellery

You already know that we love our bling here at House of Coco and selecting our jewellery for a night out is equally as important as deciding which dress to wear. That said, we are always on the look out for new designers to shout about and most recently on our radar was Naomi Davies Jewellery.

Naomi trained in Three-Dimensional Design at West Surrey College of Arts and Technology, and is now the designer and maker of fine and unique jewellery which is Naomi Davies-Jewellery Design. Her aim is to produce jewellery that shines with class, quality and individuality. She is highly aware of designing pieces that embrace current fashion trends as well as being timeless in style. She believes that jewellery should not only be a work of art but also highly wearable, complimenting and working with the body in all occasions.

When did you launch the brand and what was the reason behind it?
I studied three-dimensional design as a student, then followed a career in teaching design before raising a family. I now want to concentrate on fulfilling my potential as far as I can in  jewellery  design. I started up the brand about a year ago in 2014. I want my personality to reflect in the brand which is why I chose my name as the logo. I love the beauty of musical instruments, especially stringed ones. It is something to do with the purity of curves with the tension of lines. I also love the feel of marble, acrylic and leather and combine them with precious metals instead of more traditional gems and stones.

Whats your background?
I went to art college. My father Nathaniel Davies was a prolific artist, so I was brought up in a home like a mini art college. My siblings and I had the opportunity and were encouraged  to express   ourselves in a variety of media. I was either going to specialise in illustration or sculpture but loved working in small scale with tools and the concentration and calm control that you have to apply to  jewellery.making.
