Driven by a desire to build her own fashion empire, Nicole is an industrious dreamer with a hint of both confidence and sass. When she isn’t busy watching cute animal videos or drinking a cup of coffee, she can be found in the studio at Sincerely NV; looking for a new outlet to express her creative mind.

This is a brand that she founded and she is a real #girlboss. We went along to find out more…

When did you launch the brand and what was the reason behind it?
We launched the brand back in March of 2017. We were both craving some sort of creative outlet in the midst of life’s chaos. Our morals run deep in all things eco-friendly and sustainable. Which is why we rework vintage — to recycle what designers and brands have already made that have somehow depleted down to the bottom end of the fashion cycle. This is the only planet we have, and we all need to savour all it’s resources in every way possible.

Whats your background?
Nicole: I have a background in Fashion management and Design

Veronica: I have a background in retail management and media production

How many people are involved in the company and what are their roles?
It’s just the two of us full-time right now. Nicole takes care of our creative direction and design, and Veronica takes care of marketing. However, we can’t do everything ourselves which is why we encourage creatives to collaborate with us!

If you could start over with the business, would you do anything differently?
Nicole: Not at all! And our answer still stands for later on. This business is a definite learning curve, and everything we encounter plays a part in the growth and success of the company!

Veronica: Definitely agreed. In just a span of a few months, it has been so crazy to look back and see the progress we’ve made!

What is the hardest challenge you have faced since you started the company?
Currently, it would have to be time! As much as we both would love to go full-time working for ourselves, we have day jobs and just finding the time around those set schedules collectively has been the most difficult. If there were more hours in a day and a magical potion to postpone sleep, we’d be all set!

Tell us one fact about you that people wouldn’t know?
Nicole: A good sale is my kryptonite!

Veronica: I’m absolutely in love with all forms of art.

Which city do you feel most at home in, London, Paris or New York?
Nicole: Definitely Paris, the architecture is mesmerising every time ~heart eyes emoji~

Veronica: New York! City girl at heart.

Three beauty products you can’t leave the house without?
Nicole: Anastasia brow pot – for both my brows and winged eyeliner! Eyelash curler and mascara!

Veronica: A liquid lipstick (because you never know when you’ll have to dress up a little and throw on a lip!), mascara and a bronzer. I’ve been obsessed with heavy contour since high school.

Style means….?
Nicole: Rocking whatever the f*ck you want and not caring about what others think, just stand tall and strut that stuff!

Veronica: Individuality! I love dressing according to my daily mood. Style is definitely a form of expression. Some days I’ll be a little more preppy, and others super edgy.

Statement shoe or statement bag?
Nicole: Statement shoe

Veronica: Statement shoe! I work in a shoe store- it’s actually an obsession.

If you had to, what piece of clothing from your wardrobe would you wear everyday?
Nicole: A basic black t-shirt! It’s timeless, and I can wear any colour lip with it

Veronica: Jeans. My best friends know I basically live in denim.

Favourite love song?
Nicole: Best Part feat. H.E.R by Daniel Caesar

Veronica: Just The Same by Bruno Major

Best place for a coffee?
Nicole: We live in Canada, and there’s this amazing spot 20 minutes of of Downtown Toronto in Oakville called Kerr street cafe. Theeee BEST!

Veronica: Any place where my friends are the baristas

Guilty pleasure?
Nicole: Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked ice cream. I can eat a whole tub in one sitting. It’s absolutely terrible!

Veronica: Cheesy TV sit-coms about friend groups trying to navigate life in big cities. Friends, How I Met Your Mother, Friends From College.. they’re all basically the same thing, just for different stages of adulthood.

If you could spent 24 hours in anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Nicole: Venice, Italy. It’s such a shame that the water levels are rising, I definitely want to go there and visit before anything tragic happens

Veronica: Barcelona, Spain. I’ve been in love with that city just from looking at pictures since I was little. It’s a dream of mine to go.
