Director and entrepreneur Karl Dickey is no stranger to the beauty scene, having worked closely with the likes of reality diva Gemma Collins, Georgia Steel and other key influencers from shows such as Love Island and Geordie Shore. Dickeybow Boutique Leeds follows in the footsteps of Karl’s successful salon in Wakefield, which opened five years ago.
Karl’s hands-on approach to business led him to become a celebrity MUA in his own right, and his work with Gemma Collins for her hit ITV show soon caught the attention of the wider entertainment industry. High-profile projects for the BBC and MTV soon followed, making the entrepreneur one of the industry’s most sought after talents.
Go-to glamour salon
After graduating from the University of Northumbria in 2011 with a degree in business and marketing, Karl decided to bring a little bit of Newcastle back to Yorkshire with his own fashion store and beauty salon. Dickeybow Boutique has evolved as a brand over the years to become Wakefield’s go-to glamour salon and academy for make up training and is a firm favourite with the town’s fashion forward ladies and industry artists. The salon opens Saturday 30th November where you are welcome to call in between 9am and 7.30pm for a glass of prosecco, meet the team and book your Christmas glam!
Karl had this to say ahead of the launch of his new Leeds boutique:
‘’The Dickeybow Boutique journey has been an absolute whirlwind over the past few years and has grown into a brand that I’m truly proud of. The Leeds salon really offers something unique to the city and offers a space for girls to socialise with a glass of Prosecco as they get glammed up for a party, wedding or a night on the town and can literally head straight out to their party destination after visiting my supersalon.’’
‘’Whether you’re after some HD brows or a complete makeover, Dickeybow Boutique is designed to make ladies look and feel their most fabulous. After years of looking out for the perfect venue, I’m excited to finally bring the brand to South Parade in Leeds. The boutique itself is absolutely gorgeous and I’ve got an incredibly talented team of girls who live and breathe everything glam.’’
