If you’re a fan of the hugely popular HBO series Game of Thrones, then it’s worth keeping an eye out for the Dark Hedges. The trees planted back in the 18th century line a road which has recently been used to create a back drop for the famous series. The Titanic Exhibit in Belfast is a wonderful experience.
The Sky Road
Many tourists head to Ireland for the lively atmosphere of busy cities such as Dublin and Belfast, but this isn’t to everyone’s taste. If you’re looking for a peaceful break packed with scenery, then driving along the beautiful Sky Road in Connemara is definitely something to consider. The short 15km drive takes you on a tranquil journey alongside the peaceful coastal waters, providing the perfect backdrop to your drive.
Don’t be disappointed by the short journey time as the adventure isn’t over just yet. If you plan your trip around the low tides, you can dry across the sandy causeway to Omey Island. Here you can take in the peaceful atmosphere and distant ocean views.
