Second, spend money on a quality down jacket. You’re going to need a warm-down jacket to stay comfortable on the trip. Throughout the journey, you’ll wear this jacket in the mornings and at night. Since it is always below freezing during this extended summit night, the jacket is also crucial for your summit night.
Third, it is crucial to have two Nalgene-style plastic bottles in addition to a water bladder (such as a Camelbak). Having a bladder will let you consume the necessary amount of water, which is important in the mountains. You won’t be drinking enough if you have to continuously stop to fetch a bottle out of your luggage.
