Female eSports Players: Female Gamers Can Be Equally Successful

Back in the 1990s when video games have become even more popular thanks to personal computers, most of the players were boys. Today, the situation has changed. More and more adults are playing popular video games and on top of that, there are many female players that have proven to be successful. Of course, the situation is not different when it comes to eSports. While it’s true that it took some time for female players and female eSports teams to break the ice, it’s also true that we have a few respected teams and players like this today.

So, it’s not unusual to find female DOTA, League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Fortnite or FIFA players. One of the proofs that female eSports players are valued equally, is that more and more people are placing bets on these teams and players. You can easily find a website where you can read betting previews and reviews of eSports betting sites focused on this category of players.

The best female eSports players and teams

As we said before, for many years, video gaming was almost exclusively a male-dominated activity. In the last few years, things have changed and there are a growing number of talented and skilled female players especially in the eSports sector. One of the female eSports players that you can find on many lists dedicated to top-rated eSports players, in general, is Sasha Hostyn. Her nickname is Scarlett and she is 25 years old. Even though she likes to play different games, she is focused on Starcraft II tournaments.

Katherine Gunn aka Mystik is another successful female eSports player. She is an American player which has participated in a few different tournaments including Dead or Alive 4: Championship Gaming Series and WCG Ultimate Gamer. Kat is 30 years old which means that she has a lot of experience in this field.

There are great female players in almost any country in the world. Ksenia Klyuenkova, for example, comes from Russia. She is known as Vilga in the gaming community. This female cyber athlete is playing one of the most famous games of all time and an extremely popular eSport – Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Even though we’ve already highlighted the fact that there are not many exclusive all-female eSports teams out there, this doesn’t mean that they don’t exist. On the contrary, there are a few popular teams like this. For instance, last year, Gen.G the popular eSports organization has managed to sign contracts with Madison Mann aka Maddiesun and Tina Perez aka Tinaraes. This means that they now have an all-female Fortnite team. This was wonderful news for all the Fortnite fans out there that wanted the competition to be spiced up a little bit. Needless to say, both Perez and Mann are great players.

Another successful team that includes only female players is Team Secret. This team is focused on Counter Strike: Global Offensive tournaments. This team has also participated in Dota 2 tournaments. It’s interesting that Team Secret includes five female players – zAAz, Mimimicheater, Nylon, Vilga, and Juliane.

What’s great is that more and more tournaments, even the ones that are most popular include special sections for female players. So, these are the sections where you will find all-female teams competing against each other. As a matter of fact, in the last two years, we have witnessed the emergence of a few all-female eSports festivals. Of course, some of the most popular eSports are played on these tournaments visited by hundreds of people.

But, there’s another trend that we should mention which includes the participation of female players in teams that were exclusively male in the past. In other words, it’s not uncommon to find successful eSports teams that include both male and female players which is another proof that female players have a bright future in the world of eSports.
