#GIRLBOSSESOFGREATBRITAIN BOOTCAMP: WORKOUT THREE; GET INTO THE GROOVE

At a recent careers event we were delighted that time was spent talking about the care we need to take of ourselves to be our best selves. Madonna knows the value of hardwork (she famously quipped “I’m tough, I’m ambitious and I know exactly what I want. If that makes me a bitch, okay.” over the release of this very song) and so do you, but there’s no harm getting some support along the way.

.

This week’s bootcamp is short and sweet, with plenty of ideas to take away. Why not take some of our advice and tag us in your instagram post of you having a Girl Boss adventure a la Desperately Seeking Susan?

Get Into the Groove mentally

There’s a great bit of positive psychology which originates from Csikszentmihayli (say “Chick-Sent-Me-Hi”) about the varying strands that combine to put you into the state of ‘Flow’, completely focused attention. There are many areas to get in balance for perfect flow, but let’s work on one this week!
 .
To help you get into a state of concentration give mindfulness and meditation a bash. Don’t be alarmed it’s not hippy nonsense and has been proven to boost creativity and productivity. Plus, and keep this one to yourself, it’s dead easy. To learn more visit The Evolutionaries or download the HeadSpace app.

Get Into The Organised Groove
 .
There’s been a real explosion of helpful (and beautiful!) stationery lately. Why not invest in a Daily Greatness Business Planner , visit Kikki.K  to stock up on notepads and pens and grab an inspirational cup from Ban.Do . You’re worth it!
Revisit the kick ass feeling of a new, fully stocked pencil case before going back to school. Grab tomorrow by the horns, and cover it in pink, scented highlighter.

Get Into The Groove, Tech Free
.
This #HouseofCoco Girl Boss took drastic measures a couple of months ago and spent a day, out of the house without her phone so she could be present with friends. How sad is it that? In today’s world we are all glued to the devices in our hands, especially when we are juggling day jobs, friends, networking and the business we are passionate about growing…
.
We can all take some small steps to distance ourselves from our tech. For instance, try to reduce the blue light you take in before bed and just as you wake up. Why not schedule your business social media posts so you aren’t leaping onto Instagram every 4 hours to post something hopelessly beautiful. Finally, if you need a total break look to an organisation like Digital Detoxing who arrange retreats and measure your Return On Adventure. Worth tweeting about right?

What have we missed? Share your Girl Boss top tips with us @House_of_Coco and show us your GirlBoss adventures on instagram!

A chronic over researcher, Anna is the one who will sniff out all the unusual things to do at a destination and create a spreadsheet of options so there's no FOMO. Less likely to be spotted at an infinity pool, Anna will be finding dive bars, flea markets, 3rd wave coffee shops and chatting with locals to find out what they get up to...and sharing that intel here as part of #TeamCoco.
