A vintage-inspired look is increasingly becoming popular as more and more people take inspiration from past eras. I have worn vintage for several years and have collected the most exquisite pieces from the 1940s to the 1960s.

Whilst wearing vintage is always really special, it is not always practical to wear it every day. This is where vintage-loving ladies and gents can take advantage of an amazing array of reproduction labels.

With repro, you can get the dress, skirt or trousers that you want in the style you want. No more vintage regret when you find your ‘unicorn’ and it’s not in your size (curses!) one of the most authentic reproduction brands in the market is Vivien of Holloway which is owned by British designer Vivien Wilson.

As a life-long fan of both the Fifties fashion and lifestyle, Vivien began sewing her own clothes at the tender age of ten years old and just eight years later, opened her first shop at the renowned Kensington Market (which has sadly now closed) where she garnered a loyal following from like-minded ladies who loved the 1950s vibe.

Vivien of Holloway was launched in the year 2000 and has been seen on celebrities like Kelly Brook, Alesha Dixon and Nigella Lawson.

With a range of pieces in typical 1950s styles like a traditional shirt-waister style or a pin-up inspired pencil skirt, that vintage look is easily accessible and have a vintage feel and look, but have the advantages of fitting a modern figure and using modern fabrics makes them easier to care for.

Vivien’s ethos is all about making vintage accessible to all and to provide an alternative to more mainstream fashion. Like Vivien, I am inspired by the glamourous women in those classic films from the fifties. Her dresses (in particular) have a vintage feel and look which is just timeless.

Here are some of our favourite standout pieces from the latest collection from Vivien of Holloway.

Circle Skirt Bird of Paradise Red – This is the perfect swing skirt and comes in the most stunning Hawaiian-inspired style print. Wear it with a bardot top or a mandarin collar blouse.

Elvis Cream Vanity Case – I love this case and it is definitely on my Christmas list – it is so unusual and if you love a bit of rockabilly, this has to be your go-to bag. It has a hologram of Elvis – what more can a gal ask for?!

Kitty Atlas Dress – #TeamCoco love to travel, so imagine our delight when we saw a dress with an atlas print on it?! The fifties styling is so spot on with its nipped in waist and full skirt – the atlas print includes map detailing, boats and more – these quirky prints are to die for!

Mandarin Top – For a sleek silhouette, the Vivien of Holloway Mandarin top is designed from a classic 1950s style. You can imagine the likes of Grace Kelly wearing a top like this with a sleek pencil skirt. The unusual mandarin neckline truly makes this top unique and adds a touch of glamour to an every-day wardrobe.

Pedal Pushers – You can’t beat a pair of cheeky pedal pushers! These are high-waisted and come with a side slit at the ankle. Choose from racing green for autumn, sparkle for Christmas and a pair of black leopard for a touch of sass!

Sarong Garland Red Bolero Set – With the holiday season fast approaching, say no to that Little Black Dress and opt for something with colour. This figure hugging dress comes in a variety of colours and is inspired by the South Pacific.
