October has arrived which can only mean one thing – time to spend all month prepping for our Halloween outfits! Whether you like to keep it sultry as a black cat or full-out horrifying as an undead zombie, our House of Coco beauty editor has searched the market for the best beauty buys to make your Halloween outfit as spooky (and beautiful) as ever.
Paperself Spider lashes (£12.50)
Weave a web of intrigue with the spooky Paperself Eyelashes in ‘Spider’, an origami-inspired set of false lashes cut from coated paper. The intricate lashes feature a cluster of spiders hanging from their webs, with larger spiders framing the outer corners of the eyes. Use them as a full lash across the eyelid of cut up and layer to create your own unique lash design!
Sugar Skull Face Tattoo (£6.99)
Take the hard work out of face painting with these temporary face tattoos from Spacemonkey.co.uk. Our favourite is the Sugar skull but there are many to choose from – animals, tribals and skulls. Just transfer onto the face and remove with water for an effective Halloween makeup.
Fudge Urban Colour Hair Chalk (£5.99)
Have a temporary change of hair colour for the festivities this Halloween with Fudge Urban coloured chalks. Use the white for a greying witch or vampire streak or use their other colours of purple, pink and blue to really characterise your hairstyle! The best thing is – they wash out after use so no colour damage your hair or tell-tale signs of your Halloween partying on a monday morning!
Sheida Eyeshadow Wands (£9.99 each)
Have you ever seen an eyeshadow that looks more magical?? These Sheida eyeshadow wands contain a pure pigment that can be used wet or dry to create many different looks. Use it dry for a super blended smokey eye effect or wet along the lash line for a liner or stronger coloured finish. These are a great buy for Halloween with their majestic, magical bottles and one just isn’t enough!
MesmerEyez Contact Lenses (from £2.99)
The master of coloured contact lenses MesmerEyez bring us XtremeEyez, specifically designed character lenses that perfectly finish off every Halloween outfit. From red devil , to grey zombie to green dragon… there is a lens for every Halloween character. Our personal favourite is the classic cat eye lenses for sultry halloween dress-ups! Purrrrrrrfect.
American Apparel Glow in the Dark Nail Varnish (£7.00)
Swipe this over your manicure and you’ll be the light of the party – literally. This American Apparel varnish goes of sheer and glows either neon yellow, green or orange in the dark. We’re hoping they create a glow in the dark lipstick to match, so that you know, we can match our mani’s to our lippy of course!
Ardell Glitter Lashes (approx £4.95)
If you fancy a more glamourous makeup for Halloween (think black cat, witch, scary doll vibes) then Ardell have a fantastic range of big glam, glitter lashes that will give that added drama to any gorgeous Halloween makeup. Use on the top eyelashes so the glitter catches the light or even use a second pair on the bottom lashes for an exaggerated wide eye makeup! You could even layer sliver glitter lashes with gold glitter lashes for super thick volume and glitz. And these are perfect for any Christmas parties so stock up for the upcoming season.
Illamasqua Lipstick (£18.50)
Go for an unusual shade of lippy from Illamasqua’s eclectic range of colours this Halloween for a character makeup or just to vamp up your usual look. We recommend trying the deep navy Disciple or teal green Apocalips. And if that isn’t daring enough for you – try the matte black shade Pristine.
Elegant Touch Trick or Treat Nails (£5.30)
You couldn’t get any more Halloween-y in in beauty terms than these Elegant Touch false nails! Whether you’re going full-out fancy dress or just fancy a nod to the spookiness, the little skull, ghosts and pumpkin details on these nails are ideal for any fancy dress outfit. Go get them quick – on special offer for £5.30 (RRP £7.95) at Superdrug now.
