From the Curio Collection by Hilton, Hart is located in the hustle and bustle of Shoreditch’s vibrant Old Street in London. This modern yet classically inspired boutique property artfully balances contemporary design with timeless elegance. As someone who has had the fortune to travel extensively, it’s rare to find a place that marries historical touches with modern luxury as effortlessly as Hart Shoreditch does.
The interior and rooms at Hart Shoreditch
From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by its distinct blend of past and present, all while offering a level of comfort and service that defines a five-star experience.
Upon entering my luxury king superior suite, I was immediately struck by the sophisticated attention to detail in the décor. The room effortlessly combines traditional and contemporary elements, featuring plush furnishings, luxurious fabrics, and warm rustic tones that evoke a sense of comfort and refinement.
However, the standout feature for me was the traditional bathtub, a deep, freestanding tub with elevated ends that harks back to the glamour of the 1920s era. Nestled in the bathroom corner, it became my sanctuary after a long day exploring the bustling city. The bathing experience was made even more special by the beautiful view of Shoreditch’s Old Street, offering a contrasting view of London’s hustle and bustle while I soaked in complete serenity.
The classic radio, an old-fashioned piece that served as both a radio and alarm clock, added to the room’s vintage charm. It transported me back to an era that I wish to have experienced. These little touches throughout the suite truly enriched my stay, making it more than just a hotel experience—it felt like stepping into a beautiful blend of the past and the present.
The bed itself was a work of art, with sumptuous linens and pillows so soft that it was nearly impossible to leave in the morning. Despite being in the heart of London, I found myself appreciating the peaceful silence, which allowed me to relax fully and enjoy moments of pure tranquillity. Every detail in the room has been carefully thought out to ensure guests experience nothing but the highest levels of comfort.
The food at Uba Restaurant
One of the highlights of Hart, Shoreditch, is the flavoursome food in the recently opened Uba Restaurant, which offers pan-Asiatic cuisine. As a lover of diverse flavours, I was particularly excited to try the exotic menu, which did not disappoint.
It offers small plates, large dishes, and a raw sushi section, with sides to complement, including dim sum and harita buns. I began my meal with the tempura rock shrimp, which were cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and succulent within. The dish was complemented by a delicate dipping sauce of kimchi garlic that added just the right amount of flavour without overwhelming the prawns.
The Korean crispy fried chicken was the star of the show. The tender chicken was encased in a perfectly fried, crispy coating bursting with a balance of sweet, spicy, and savoury notes. The robata tender stem broccoli, often overlooked as a side dish, was elevated with a light seasoning of satsuma miso wafu and sprinkled with crispy shallots.
Moving on to the beef rib tacos, I was pleasantly surprised by the tender, well-seasoned beef paired with fresh garnishes of avocado and crispy onions, creating a combination of textures and flavours that was deeply satisfying.
One dish that stood out was the chicken harita buns. The succulent chicken, topped with Japanese pickles and yuzu mayo and paired with the soft, pillowy buns, offered a delightful contrast that left a lasting impression. Each bite was an explosion of bold, tangy flavours that made the dish unforgettable.
Two mocktails, Coastal Zen and Highland Sunset, were served to accompany the small plates. They were beautifully crafted, refreshing, and the perfect complement to the rich and diverse dishes. It was clear that great care and attention had been placed into every element of Asian food, from presentation to flavour.
Dessert, of course, is essential for sweet treat lovers, and I indulged in the lychee jasmine and raspberry creme brulee with calpis sorbet. The crisp, caramelized sugar on top gave way to a smooth, creamy custard infused with a subtle tartness from the raspberries and sweetness from the sorbet. It was the perfect end to a delightful meal.
It is rare to find such a combination of friendly yet professional service, making the dining experience feel even more special. The restaurant’s ambience, with its vibrant and elegant decor and intimate lighting, provided a perfect setting for a relaxing, luxurious meal for a date night, catching up with friends, or a solo treat.
What impressed me further was the affordability of the meal, given the quality of the food and the level of service provided. UBA certainly delivers on both taste and value, making it a must-visit for anyone staying at the hotel or passing through Shoreditch.

The Art of The Hotel Lobby
During my stay, Hart Shoreditch unveiled a vibrant and immersive exhibition created by the innovative minds at 2LG Studio in celebration of London Design Festival. This cutting-edge showcase, titled SPECTRUM, invited me to embark on a sensory journey that redefines the experience of colour.
Found within the spacious hotel lobby, the unique stairwell, and the sultry hotel lounge, SPECTRUM features an array of innovative designs and materials.
