Places to Visit on a 5 Day Tour of the Valencia Coast

Getting Around Valencia

Albufera Natural Park
Albufera Natural Park is the largest of six natural parks in the city. This one is by the coast and features a freshwater lagoon. It is separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a stretch of sand dunes. A visit to the park reveals some real cultural gems including the three hundred-year-old building, Casa de “Demana”.
Originally the building was used as a base for hunting, but these days it is used to inform visitors about Albufera Natural Park.
The park is home to rare species of migratory birds and the natural habitat offered to wildlife is worth the visit on its own.
Exploring History
An awe-inspiring aspect about the coastline is that you can see a monument from the past along its entirety. Several medieval castles can be found including the brilliant Cullera Castle. The castle overlooks the Cullera, a bay that forms part of the coastline.
It was constructed in the tenth century and consists of five towers. King James I expanded the fortress under his reign. It was fortified and expanded again in the nineteenth century at the time of the Carlist War.
Today, you can visit the castle, which offers a good snapshot of the past. The museum features exhibits that talk about the role of the castle throughout the ages. Don’t forget to take in the magnificent view.
A Day at the Beach
As you can imagine, there are some brilliant beaches in Valencia. One of the most popular beaches is Malvarrosa Beach. Here, you’ll find endless golden sand and a beautiful palm tree-lined promenade. The Blue Flag awarded beach offers you places to relax, places to eat, and plenty of places to do water and beach activities such as volleyball or scuba diving.
One of the great things to do in Valencia is simply to stroll along the coastline. The beaches and views are wonderful, and one beach blends into another.
