Going to the gym means lifting heavy weights and working with metal equipment. Some jewelry-wearing people damage their bracelets and rings while working out because their jewelry can get caught in the machines.

A lot of people refuse to leave their homes without wearing their staple jewelry. That is especially true for engaged and married couples. They’d want to wear their engagement and wedding rings even at the gym.

Today, we will discuss some things that you should do to keep yourpersonalized ringsprotected when working out.

Wear a silicone ring

The first thing that you should do is to replace your metal engagement or wedding ring with a silicone one. Silicone bands are non-conductive and are sturdy. This means that it can withstand pressure and be in contact with certain things, such as weights and gym equipment.

Silicone rings are also not that expensive, with units ranging from $20 to $40. It means you would not have to spend a fortune to have your engagement or wedding ring replaced. You can try it and see the difference between the different kinds of rings.

Keep it in your bag

Get a dish or a pouch where you can safely place your engagement or wedding ring while working out. You can wear your ring when going to the gym and take it off before lifting weights or using the equipment.

Store your ring in this pouch or dish. Keep it in a locker so you would know that it would be safe even when you are working out. This way, you can focus on your workout and not have to worry about the ring getting damaged.

Use a ring protector

If you do not want to remove or have it replaced with a silicone one, consider getting a ring protector. These are usually made of rubber or silicone. All you have to do is slip it on your ring finger and cover your entire ring with it.

You might want to test these out first so you can be sure that it’s not too tight on your finger and your ring. It will also prevent your ring from moving around your finger while you are lifting weights and using the equipment. With this item, you wouldn’t have to worry about the pressure and friction that the exercising machines can cause on your ring.

Have a friend hold on to it

If you have a friend accompanying you to the gym, you can leave your ring with them in the meantime. Make sure that they would not be working out, though, as you risk the chance of losing or damaging it when it’s with them. If they have a pocket on their pants or their workout gear, you can ask them if you could put the ring in there.

Our best bet would be toleave your ring at homebefore going to the gym. However, if you are using a silicone band as your engagement or wedding ring or a ring protector, you would not have to worry about it getting damaged. You can freely wear it to the gym and anywhere you want to.
