After such a long hot summer, it is difficult to imagine that we will soon be feeling the chill of winter.

It can often be challenging to feel comfortable when bundled up in layer upon layer of winter woolies if you are a sun-worshipper. Luckily, there are ways you can beat the freeze and look stylish while doing so. Here are a few ways to look good this winter

It’s All About The Base

In order to keep warm, don’t think that you have to layer up numerous huge bulky knitted sweaters and thick sweatpants until you resemble the Ghostbusters marshmallow man. With clever underwear, you can feel light and free from constriction.

Thermal underwear is invaluable as it keeps you splendidly cozy, and you don’t have to wear lots of garments on top of it. The underwear must fit close to the body for maximum efficiency – if it’s too tight, it will be uncomfortable, too loose, and it will be draughty.

Natural materials such as Merino wool and bamboo are considered the best material for a thermal base layer as they wick away excess moisture while keeping you cozy. On icy cold days, slip on some long johns and a full sleeve vest.

Cozy Casuals

Once you have the perfect thermal base, you can look for some top layers such as sweatshirts, knitted jumpers, cardigans, jeans, joggers, and leggings.

Casual wear needs to be loose and comfortable- especially if you want to participate in outdoor activities like walking your dog in the park or shopping with friends. Jeans will never go out of fashion and will always be a classic wardrobe staple. You could team some Mom jeans with a bright graphic top or a fleecy hoodie for a casual but funky look.

On lazy days when you want to chill at home watching some Christmas movies with friends, you could buy some loungewear. Look for loose pants made from sumptuous velour or the softest cotton and team with a fleecy sweater and fluffy socks. Look for loungewear in pretty pastel colors that will flatter any complexion.

Frost-free Feet

Often feet are affected by the winter chill more than any other part of the body. If your feet are cozy, you are halfway there in the battle against the freeze.

Thermal socks are a must when venturing outside, as are a pair of super-cozy wellie liners if you plan on wearing your trusty rubber boots. However, the best thing you can do this winter is to buy a pair of sturdy, warm boots that look great whatever the occasion.

Chunky Ugg boots teamed with jeggings, an oversized knitted sweater, and a beanie hat will make you look trendy yet stylish when meeting the girls for lunch. Fleece-lined, mid-calf boots look great with jeans and leggings as well as skirts. Boots with a more sculpted look, higher heel, and pointed toe look smart and stylish with a long velvet flared skirt or a corduroy mini and can be worn as part of a work outfit or when out on a dinner date.

Enjoy putting a winter wardrobe together. Feast your eyes on the rich jewel colors and feel the softness of the wool, fleece, and faux fur fabrics.
