Here at House of Coco, we’re not entirely sure what to make of this one, but like it or lump it, it’s happening.
Ikea, your handy-dandy go-to Scandinavian homeware retailer has seen the trend in crazy concept cafes and gone ahead and jumped right on it – head first.
This month sees the launch of IKEA’s Breakfast in Bed Cafe – offering visitors the opportunity to lie in bed and be attended to by waiting staff and ‘sleep specialists’.
Between 7am and midday you’ll be able to book a slot in a bed and order from a range of Scandinavian breakfasts.
Wait for it though, it gets better. From midday to 3pm, you can grab a bed for a lunchtime nap. It should go without saying to make sure you bring your alarm and eye mask, if so required.
Guests will be offered a choice from a pillow menu and a range of sleep-inducing teas. Plus you’ll be able to ask a team of sleepologists for expert tips on how to sleep (if you’re as confused and bemused as we are).
The best part of the whole surreal concept is that it’s entirely free. You’ll need to be quick though – the café is only open for three days from Monday 18th – Wednesday 20th May.
