In review: Clo&flo Hair Salon

House of Coco beauty editor, Scarlett, popped into South Kensington, London to try the revamped and newly branded clo&flo hair salon…

“There’s nothing I like more than messing about with my hair colour – blue dip dyes, pink fringes, chunky red and blonde highlights (this last one was in the 2000’s when Ginger Spice was my fashion icon, may I add) but I’ve never really been very experimental with the texture of my hair. I have curly, unruly hair and that is that… until recently. Before becoming a beauty editor, I had often straightened my hair when fancying a weekend without the curls and every trip to the hairdressers, I would ask for sleek poker straight hair until one hairdresser in a salon I was reviewing suggested we leave the straighteners alone and go for a curly blow dry (something i’d never thought of having as I always wanted to get away from my unruly dry curls) and this changed my hair life FOREVER!

I now love a blow dry and know a good one, so when I was asked to visit clo&flo in South Kensington, London for a wash and blow out, my scraggly, curly cuticles jumped for joy!

Clo&flo salon in South Ken is a real family business. With both parents being renown hairdressers in the London circuit, casually well-styled sisters Chloe and Florence Bellas took over the business from their father a couple of years ago and gave it a modern facelift. The salon offers a selection of treatments, from classic cuts and colours to Brazilian hair straightening and deluxe conditioning.

I opted for a curly blow dry that would last my weekend partying at a festival. My stylist gave me a lovely head massage at the basin whilst my hair was washed squeaky clean then the blow drying process began. I have a lot of thick hair so this can be a tiresome process that can’t be rushed. In the past, when popping in to the many blow dry bars in London, I’ve found the stylist rush my blow dry to fit into their 30 min timeslots, but not here at clo&flo. I was in the seat a good part of a hour whilst my hair was blow dried with a round brush for volume and shape, then some definition was put in the a large curler.

The finished result:

Florence’s styling talent paired with Chloe’s business mind make them the perfect team, and there’s rarely a day that they aren’t both at the salon. Clo&flo is the place to go if you want a warm family environment with talented stylists who understand what their customers want and deliver it to the highest standard. Expect a modern take on the glossy Chelsea mane with long lasting results (my blow-dry lasted the whole weekend partying plus another few days!)”

Prices start from £45 for a cut and blow dry. Clo&flo also offer a blowdry loyalty card and an array of bespoke in salon events.
