Laura Bartlett, our dynamic founder, swapped her home office for a two-night stay in the clouds. Trading her usual backdrop of houseplants and inspirational quotes for panoramic cityscapes, Laura immersed herself in the luxurious world of Vetro’s £1.6m penthouse.
As the mastermind behind a thriving travel and lifestyle publication, she is no stranger to opulence. Yet, even she was taken aback by the sheer grandeur of her temporary abode. With a glass of 0% champagne in hand and the city twinkling at her feet, Laura embarked on a whirlwind adventure, discovering whether penthouse living is truly all it’s cracked up to be.

Let’s face it, running a travel magazine isn’t all sunshine and mocktails, (although there’s definitely a healthy dose of both!). As the founder of House of Coco, my days are a whirlwind of deadlines, brainstorming sessions and mood boards overflowing with turquoise waters and ancient ruins. But a girl needs a staycation every now and then, and recently, I found myself whisked away to a little slice of luxury living right in the heart of London: the brand new Vetro London apartments.
Now, I’ve seen my fair share of swanky hotels, but Vetro London takes things to a whole new level. Imagine this: you step off the elevator and are greeted by a panorama that would make even the most jaded Londoner weak in the knees. The River Thames shimmers like a ribbon of light, Canary Wharf glistens with its modern majesty and the city sprawls out before you like a glittering map. This, my friends, is what greeted me as I entered the stunning duplex penthouse I called home for two glorious nights.
Let me tell you, the photos don’t do it justice. Floor-to-ceiling windows blurred the lines between indoors and out, making the entire space feel light, airy, and oh-so-spacious. My friend Gina, bless her travel-obsessed heart, spent half the weekend glued to the window, muttering about “epic Instagram shots.” Speaking of the space, the open-plan living area downstairs was an entertainer’s dream. We whipped up a gourmet feast (okay, maybe it was takeout sushi, but who judges in a kitchen that gorgeous?) and spent hours catching up, the cityscape twinkling like a million fairy lights outside.

Upstairs, the two bedrooms were like mini sanctuaries – think plush king-sized beds, marble bathrooms that would make a Roman emperor jealous and enough storage space to house a lifetime’s worth of travel souvenirs. Honestly, it was hard to tear myself away from the luxurious rain shower, but hey, the view from the balcony wasn’t too shabby either.
Now, Vetro London isn’t just about the apartments themselves (though let’s be honest, they’re pretty darn incredible). The building boasts a whole host of amenities that had us feeling like pampered royalty. We indulged in a post-flight sweat session at the in-house gym (complete with state-of-the-art equipment), followed by a blissful soak in the sauna. There’s even a concierge service that could probably source you a last-minute passport if you needed (although for this weekend, all we needed were fluffy robes and good banter).
But perhaps the best part of the whole Vetro London experience was the location. Canary Wharf, with its bustling shops, trendy bars and world-class restaurants, was right on our doorstep. We spent an afternoon exploring the neighbourhood, indulging in a spot of retail therapy (because, hey, even a staycation girl needs a souvenir or two!), and grabbing cocktails with a view that would rival any rooftop bar in town.

So, the verdict? Vetro London is more than just an apartment building; it’s a lifestyle statement. While I may have had a taste of penthouse perfection for a fleeting weekend, the reality is that these extraordinary spaces are designed for those who crave the ultimate in luxury living. With prices starting at £1,595,000, Vetro isn’t just a place to live – it’s a declaration of success.
As I reluctantly ‘checked out’, I couldn’t help but daydream about the possibility of one day calling this sky-high sanctuary home. Until then, I’ll be eagerly awaiting my next adventure, armed with the unforgettable memories of my Vetro London experience.
