We sent Wellness Editor, Anji McGrandles to Mayfair to see if Amazonico really lives up to the hype, and what she discovered was a brunch that’s as much an experience as it is a meal.
Amazonico Mayfair: A Rainforest Escape
In a city that thrives on brunch culture, few places can lay claim to turning the weekend ritual into something bordering on theatrical. Step through the doors of Amazonico in Mayfair, and you’re no longer in London; you’re in a rainforest dreamscape where brunch is reimagined with glamour, drama, and a dash of Latin soul.

The first thing that strikes you is the décor. Designed by Lázaro Rosa-Violán, the space is pure escapism with a canopy of greenery spilling from the ceiling, golden accents glimmering in the soft light, and velvety booths that invite you to sink in, order a cocktail, and stay a while. And the cocktail menu doesn’t disappoint; it’s far from the usual basics you find in most bars – think creative spins on the classic cocktail alongside innovative sips. After giving the mixologist a list of my favourite tipples, he swiftly mixes up a Napo 19, a refreshing combination of Cîroc Vodka, Aperol, Melon, Prickly Pear, and Champagne, served in a statement shell-shaped glass, surrounded by an arch-shaped rock.

There’s a great energy here, and despite it only being lunchtime, there’s already a buzz as the brunch crowd begin to spill into the bar and restaurant. There’s live music and a DJ on the weekend, which adds to the Latin party vibe. Amazonico isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a destination, the sort of venue where time seems to blur and conversations stretch from the afternoon through to early evening.
Brunch at Amazonico: Where Mayfair Meets the Rainforest
Brunch at Amazonico Mayfair transforms the traditional weekend meal into an immersive theatrical experience combining Latin American cuisine with spectacular rainforest-inspired décor. Designed by Lázaro Rosa-Violán, the space features cascading greenery, golden accents, and velvet booths that transport diners from London into a jungle dreamscape. The Weekend Asado brunch showcases bold flavors through Brazilian cheese bread, zesty ceviche, Nikkei sushi rolls, and tableside-carved meats including juicy rump steak and crispy pork belly grilled to smoky perfection. Live music and DJ performances create vibrant energy that extends afternoons into evenings, while creative cocktails elevate the experience beyond standard brunch offerings.
Festive Celebrations and Unforgettable Dining Experiences
The £65 per person Weekend Asado delivers generous portions designed for sharing, featuring churrascaria-style service alongside charred corn with chili butter and punchy fresh sauces. Desserts like the Guineo, an elevated banana split dripping in caramel, provide indulgent conclusions to the feast. This November introduces the Festive Asado at £75 per person, running Fridays through Sundays with seasonal dishes perfect for celebratory gatherings. Amazonico successfully balances spectacle with substance, creating destination dining where atmosphere, flavors, and presentation converge into memorable occasions that justify the premium pricing through quality ingredients and comprehensive menus that satisfy those seeking extraordinary brunch experiences.
The Weekend Asado Brunch
The Weekend Asado (£65pp) is the star of the brunch menu, and it showcases the best in Latin American cuisine. Forget the usual brunch staples you’ll find across London, this is brunch for people who want a feast, who want to share, and who want to make it an occasion. Plates start to arrive while the live jazz band begin to stir – warm baskets of pão de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread) that are impossible to resist, zesty ceviche that sings with lime and spice, and colourful sushi rolls that add a Nikkei twist. It’s food that wakes up your palate, sets the tempo, and hints at what’s to come.

When the parrilla lands at your table, you know you’re in the main act. We enjoyed cuts of juicy rump steak, crispy pork belly, and chicken all grilled to smoky perfection and carved tableside in a nod to Brazilian churrascaria tradition. The meat is accompanied by sides that balance the richness, charred corn slathered in chilli butter, vegetables kissed by the grill, and punchy fresh sauces that work well with the meat. It’s bold, flavour-driven cooking that captures the vibrancy of Latin America while being polished enough to hold its own in Mayfair.
And just when you think you couldn’t possibly manage another bite, the desserts arrive. I’ve overindulged but my date makes light work of the Guineo, the Amazonico take on the banana split. Far from the dessert I had as a kid, this was rich, indulgent, dripping in caramel, but somehow light enough to keep you reaching for one more spoonful.
