Our gal Hannah Tan-Gillies and roving doggy rePAWter TeamCocopup Charlie checked into the Kimpton Fitzroy London for a stylish dog friendly staycation that pulled out all the stops.

Undoubtedly one of London’s most luxurious addresses, everyone certainly knows about the Kimpton Fitzroy. But did you know that the hotel offers a whole menu of luxury pet pampering services too?

In April, Kimpton Fitzroy teamed up with luxury dog-walking and day-care company The Hound Hut to offer VIP guests (very important pooches) a truly elevated hotel experience. With this, hotel guests can book royal pampering and dog walks around Bloomsbury straight with the hotel’s concierge team. The services include two to three hour walks and even day care services.

We love that there are no size, weight or breed restrictions for pets at the Kimpton Fitzroy – which goes to show how deep their pet-friendly policies go. Plus, TeamCocopup Charlie is allowed in many common areas including the lobby and Burr & Co. These incredible pet-friendly policies can be attributed to the hotel’s adorable Director of Pet Relations Winston, who (if you’re lucky) may be there to welcome you with a paw and tail wag.

Our stay began with cocktails at Burr & Co, an all-day pub/café concept which is the perfect spot to enjoy a welcome cocktail or get work done in front of leafy Russell Square.

We stayed in one of the elegant one bedroom suites, which boasted some incredible park views of Russell Square. The spacious suites feature a separate sitting area, a gorgeous four poster king-sized bed, a beautiful balcony and Nespresso machine and tea facilities. There is also a dog bed, dog bowls and treats for Charlie – which he absolutely adored.

The crowning jewel of the suite has to be the bathroom which is as Instagrammable as they come. Here, you will find his and hers sinks and a roll top tub – complete with a separate walk in shower.

Upon arriving to the room, we were greeted with an absolutely scrumptious vegan chocolate cake, which is a testament to the quality of service at Kimpton Fitzroy. I informed the hotel in advance of my dietary requirements and so the cake was an absolutely brilliant little treat.

Dinner was served at Galvin Bar & Grill, which is a modern-day twist on a classic British bar and grill as envisioned by Michelin-starred brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin. The opulent dining room is a sight to behold as is the menu – which will undoubtedly tantalise your taste buds.

For starters, you cannot go wrong with the Carlingford rock oysters nor the Dorset Crab & Piquillo pepper croquettes – which perfectly exemplify the simple, yet Michelin-star quality of the Galvin brothers’ cooking.

We went all out and ordered the Tomahawk Steak for two, which was succulent, perfectly charred and seasoned. Paired with the hotel’s fabulous selection of red wines, this meal was certainly one for the books.

We ended our evening at Fitz’s, a handsome bar lounge that boasts plenty of ambiance. Picture dark wood interiors, Art Deco velvet banquettes and an air of sophistication all around. Fitz’s was named after Charles Fitzroy Doll, the original architect of the Kimpton Fitzroy London. Its ‘Theory of Colour’ Menu offers 14 carefully crafted cocktails inspired by different works of art. It is a multi-sensory treat and the best way to end an evening at Kimpton Fitzroy.

As we tuck in for the night, with Charlie sleeping soundly in his luxury dog bed and I in the cosy comforts of my four poster bed – it became clear that Kimpton Fitzroy London has mastered the art of luxury hospitality not just for two-legged guests but for four-legged ones too.
