2015 has seen the launch of many new hotels in the capital but the bar has been well and truly set by the London Marriott Hotel Park Lane. The Mayfair hotel has just completed an extensive renovation and House of Coco was invited to the exciting re-launch party to experience the changes.
The repositioning of the hotel was a brave but genius move by Marriott. The location is exceptional with views over Hyde Park as well as Selfridges and Oxford Street within easy walking distance. Housed within a grade II listed property, London Marriott Hotel Park Lane now epitomises Mayfair elegance with opulent guestroom accommodation and luxurious public areas befitting of the prestigious address. RPW Design are responsible for the complete interior transformation of the hotel which includes all 152 bedrooms, the introduction of five new suits and a redesign of the lobby, executive lounge and meeting rooms. The opulence and quality finish is wonderfully surprising and is sure to make competitors concerned. The Marriott now offers everything and more that a luxury Mayfair hotel should and the attentive staff are there to ensure that every customer has the perfect stay. The contemporary style of the interior spaces have been sympathetically designed and yet still pay homage to the listed building that is packed full of character. House of Coco are in love with the new suites and the positioning of them within the hotel is perfect; you can watch bustling London go by as you relax in a beautiful tranquil environment. They remind us of compact versions of the best modern Las Vegas suites which is luxury at its best.
The new layout of the rooms include entrance lobbies decorated in soft shades of white, dove grey and lavender. Plush materials such as leathers, silks, velvets, solid wood and bookmatched marble are used throughout the rooms adding a fabulous textural element and creating a luxurious space. The rooms are flooded with natural light and have a much welcomed homely feel to them which is perfect for both recreational and business stays. Another really great feature that we adore are the contemporary pieces of British artwork strewn throughout the hotel. Each piece of art is different from the last and all are quirky in character and theme. RPW Design’s Managing Director Jan Wilson said, “Our designs aim to bring out the English Heritage of the Francis Verity designed historic building extending its intimate feel and residential character into the hotel’s interior. Elegantly designed rooms and public spaces will have all the facilities expected in the leading luxury hotel.” The guest experience will be elevated with the introduction of a signature arrival and bespoke personal service. Cutting edge technology will be offered with Apple products throughout, Bluetooth LCD screen TVs and mobile check-in for customers pushed for time.
If you are thinking of booking a trip away to London then Marriott may not have initially been your first choice but due to the incredible refurbishment it should now be at the top of your list. This fabulous hotel has had an exquisite transformation that truly competes with some of the best hotels in London. The location is perfect for exploring the city and located near many of the must see attractions in the Capital.
