Whether it’s a celebrity client or someone who has just popped in for a blow-dry, everyone gets exceptional treatment,” says Benson. Which is why he spends time nurturing talent and constantly sharing feedback on how his staff can deliver the best standards for their clients.
The team are certainly delivering that celebrity London service. I was given a full hair consultation with Benson and his senior technician, Lois Goddard, who applied a root drag colour based on the sun kissed blonde style I was looking to achieve. Benson took over for the cut and blow-dry, working his magic, resulting in a ‘I feel like million dollars,’ glossy finish.
The salon itself is like stepping into a chic hair haven. The design is on point, using contemporary colours and materials. The calming grey interior is juxtaposed with a fun pop of pink in the bathroom and staff room. Sustainability is at the core of the salon. The materials are mostly recycled, As well as Keune, they’ve partnered with brands like Easydry towels (both brands are B-Corp certified), and Leaf, the world’s first sustainable scissors who plant 10 trees for every pair sold. Benson says, “I’m really excited to have opened my first salon in my hometown, and to offer state of the art hair services in a sustainable environment.”
The vision is to open another salon within the next two years, followed by a select portfolio and I have no doubt it won’t happen. Benson is a creative and perfectionist, passionate about bringing all the flair and style of a big city salon without the commute.
