After a very boozy December (I know, and it’s not even Christmas yet) #TeamCoco loved the sound of a new brunch experience, the ‘Recovery Brunch’ at newly launched restaurant M Victoria Street. Luckily our Lifestyle Writer, Helena, was one of the first to try this new Sunday event consisting of all the luxury and comfort needed to recuperate at the end of the weekend (and help get rid of that heavy Saturday night).
The Recovery Brunch experience comes complete with massages, a mini-cinema, in-restaurant DJ and a two course menu, of course consisting of a choice of cocktail from Bloody Mary, Bellini or Breakfast Martini and all for only £25.
The new M Restaurant Victoria St is a restaurant of two-halves, M Grill and M Raw. The restaurant on street level holds an extensive wine shop complete with a wine tasting table. One half of M focusing on the world class steak they are so famous for, along with a meat ageing case in the centre of the restaurant to show it off, in which you can actually also choose your meat from! On the other side, M Raw, complete with open kitchen, sushi bar and sahimi eatery. Hidden away behind the bar downstairs is the M Den, the private members lounge featuring personal bottle lockers, a private bar and a personal six-seater screening room.
The menu offers brunch classics with a twist, I opted for the Chorizo sausage first, not wanting to fill myself up too much as I already had eyes on the buttermilk chicken. The chorizo sausage was so delicious and marinated, I felt like I was sitting in a Tapas bar in a Spanish town, this is served with a fried duck egg, South African chakalaka beans on sourdough toast. And the portions are perfectly sized so you don’t have to worry about not having room for the second course.
Moving onto the second course, of course I can never resist my all-time breakfast/brunch favourite Chicken & Waffles (I spent 3 months in America, what do you expect?) The boneless buttermilk fried chicken is cooked to perfection, crispy and extremely succulent, served on Southern American savoury waffles with whipped maple butter, maple syrup and topped with picked jalapeños. Truth be told. the maple butter is to die for!
Once the meal is over you have a choice of dessert or coffee, or more drinks if that’s what you fancy, and can then relax in the M Den with a complimentary massage from a Kiehl’s masseuse plus opting for a movie in the plush six-seater cinema which hosts film screenings every Sunday.
M’s Recovery Brunch is definitely one of the best and most relaxing brunch experiences I’ve encountered, perfect relaxation in such flawless surroundings especially after this crazy Christmas period.
Available from 10am – 4pm.
Recovery cocktail and 2 courses for £25.
Plus DJ and Massage from midday.
