Made For Two: Get Married At One Of The World’s Most Romantic Destinations

Imagine…a glass of champagne in one hand, fingers intertwined with another, all the while sitting on the porch of your breathtaking villa with the love of your life. You are both gazing across vast open spaces and stunning terrain reaching to far distant horizons while wildlife leisurely wander by, intermittently stopping to graze. Voted by Yahoo as one of the best places to propose and House of Coco approved, who wouldn’t want to pop the question or say ‘I do’ at one of the world’s most romantic destinations?

Samara Private Game Reserve’s charm lies in the intimacy and serenity it provides couples. Why book a sprawling beach hotel or resort when you could cuddle together in a comfortable lounge or on an inviting patio on a sultry summer night with a light breeze blowing through your hair and the only witness is nature. Not only is it the perfect place to propose, Samara is also the quintessential wedding destination.

Playing host to a number of celebrations each year, Samara’s staff go the extra mile to make your special day is everything you’ve always dreamed of. And, even though Samara provides an intimate experience with accommodation for 26 guests at a time, they can cater for up to 200 people. So if you have a slightly larger bridal party have no fear, guests can stay in nearby Graaff Reinet and travel a short 45 minutes to the Reserve for a lovely day wedding. With a staff that is helpful yet unobtrusive, they will ensure you are taken care of so you have more time to enjoy each other and make your big day full of memories.

Whilst at Samara you can choose to stay in one of three distinct lodges– Manor House, Mountain Retreat or Karoo Lodge. Two of which (Manor House and Mountain Retreat) are available as private villas (think perfect Honeymoon location!) Delicious home-cooked meals are served in various venues – the dining-room, so after an evening spent game spotting you can return to your suite to a romantic meal under the moonlit sky, or on the veranda as well as out and about when finding game.

If your bridal party stay at the Reserve, they too would be to explore and interact with the elusive cheetah, as well as many other endangered animals and birds which are part of Samara’s conservation activities- bringing nature to vibrant life. And, most importantly, with 70,000 acres of beautiful wilderness, you never have to worry about being joined at the hip with family/friends…it’s easy to take a private walk with your new spouse and get lost in the beauty that surrounds you, perhaps make love under the stars and forget all else – it’s the idyllic place for peace, love and nature! So on your big day, forget the passé themed weddings and opt for an adventure that takes your breath away, makes your heart race and puts the butterflies back in your tummy – just like your love story.
