Abbey Road has been synonymous with some incredible acts, such as The Beatles, over the years, but being invited to partake in a recording session at the iconic London studios has to rank pretty high on a bucket list for most singers and bands.
Recently, the team at Abbey Road invited to the studios the super-talented French-African singer and actress Ysee (Audrey Gbaguidi) who has previously performed alongside world-renowned acts such as Noel Gallagher, Tony Allen (who was previously the drummer for Fela Kuti, one of the top pioneers of the Afrobeat genre) Damon Albarn’s African Express, Young Fathers, and Hot Chip amongst others.
Ysee then invited Moses Boyd and French music producer Bastien Burger (The Do) to collaborate alongside her and added a selection of other notable musicians to start creating something very special.
An invariable ‘who’s who’ of exciting talents from the music industry came to Abbey Road to help create their new track ‘Sun is coming’ which included contributions from Liam Bailey on vocals (who has previously supported Paul Weller), Jack Leonard on piano ( Cheapcuts / Unkle ), Ollie Rocket on guitar ( Sunspell / Mystery Jets), and, last but not least, Tom Waters on sax (who has previously performed on Jools Holland).

So, what can we expect from the hypnotic track ‘Sun is Coming’? It effortlessly blends laidback vibes with an uplifting and groove-laden melody superbly executed by a band of consummate professionals. Full of shimmering energy, Ysee’s sultry vocals, combined with Liam’s soulful tones, really elevates the track.
As Ysee says herself, ‘It’s all about the music’ — and with the joyous, sun-dappled track ‘Sun is Coming’, without a doubt, it’s a track to chill out to or one that will make you get up and dance. Make sure you add this to your playlist this summer!
