No Swimwear Style is Complete without a Sophisticated Cover-Up

Beachwear has gone from the beach to everyday and everywhere.  Perhaps it’s a focus on self-care, self-love, or being mindful of each moment, we are embracing fashions that capture the places we love to be. For many, that place is watching the waves and drinking in the sun.  There’s also something freeing about going to the beach when all you need is a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and a great cover-up.

Miami based Donna Leah Designs, has just launched a collection of t-shirt dresses crafted from fabrics that play with light and shine.  One-part sophisticated eveningwear and another part carefree, it’s this series that captures everything that we want from the summer including bold colors, high energy, and a stress-free way to go from beach to an evening out with friends. When it comes to hanging out at the beach, pool, or luxury event that involves a body of water, the biggest impact will come from a cover-up.

One surprising summer trend is the popularity of metallic cover-ups or styles with loads of shine.  This style has been spotted at luxurious beaches and pools around the world and from a range of well-respected designers.  Think about being in the sun and how these fabrics will capture and play with light in a magical way.  It’s for people who want to make a statement and completely stray from the traditional white linen beach vibe.s

Whether you’re planning a beach vacation on the coast of Italy or a staycation that takes advantage of local ocean views, few things are more exciting than planning what to pack. That’s why the designer also paid attention to the need for a multi-tasking piece that maximizes luggage space when traveling.  As we go back to planning dream vacations and actually going on them, many people are opting for carry-on luggage only. This strategy helps with making connections, providing options for various methods of transportation, and avoids the nightmare of lost luggage.

Six colors embrace the warm hues of Miami, a place known for its world-class beaches and nightlife.  Designer Donna Leah selected warm hues of orange and yellow, pinks that are reminiscent of sunsets, a blue that captures the ocean waves, and multicolor for the person that can’t decide!  “Not only is the Sizzle Series versatile to wear, but the colors magically coordinate with almost every color of swimwear,” explains the designer.

Even if shopping for swimwear is challenging, our internal optimism thinks that each new summer will be different than the one before.  That’s when a sophisticated cover-up can be a closet’s hero item, elevating a bikini and making a warm weather look come together. The Sizzle Series was designed to be ideal for taking fashionistas from the pool or beach to dinner al fresco.  This is the right cover up for the job, being an essential piece that can be worn with a variety of footwear and accessories that are dictated by the occasion.

“It’s quick and easy to always look put together. Since we never know if there will be enough time to change between a dip in the pool and a drink!” says the designer. “I wanted this collection to be what women grab for when they need something to throw over their swimsuit to wear out to dinner, run errands, or for a day at the beach. It’s the piece that’s always going to be a great option.”
