OPPO Find X9 Ultra: Exploring Vietnam Through Hasselblad’s Camera System

Vietnam received the OPPO Find X9 Ultra on May 5, 2026, following the device’s global debut on April 21, 2026. As the flagship model in the Find X9 family, the Ultra version places a strong emphasis on mobile photography, particularly through its collaboration with Hasselblad and its expanded telephoto capabilities.

Eight-focal-length Camera System

The headline feature of the OPPO Find X9 Ultra is its eight-focal-length camera system, spanning from 0.6x ultra-wide to 20x optical-quality zoom. The hardware behind this includes four imaging lenses: a 50MP ultra-wide (14mm, f/2.0, 1/1.95″ sensor), a 200MP main camera (23mm, f/1.5, 1/1.12″ Sony sensor), a 200MP 3x portrait telephoto (70mm, f/2.2, 1/1.28″ sensor), and a 50MP 10x periscope telephoto (230mm, f/3.5, 1/2.75″ sensor). Rounding out the array is a dedicated 3.2MP monochrome lens utilized strictly for precise color correction and detail enhancement.

Whether photographing the terraced rice fields of Sa Pa, the limestone formations of Ha Long Bay, or the historic architecture of Hoi An, the wide focal-length coverage gives photographers more flexibility to frame scenes without relying heavily on digital cropping.

The LUMO Image Engine, OPPO’s latest image processing platform, ties these lenses together, handling multi-frame fusion, noise reduction, and color calibration across the entire focal range.

The 10x Telephoto: Where Things Get Interesting

The absolute standout of this entire imaging array is the Hasselblad 50MP 10x Ultra-Sensing Optical-Zoom Telephoto. At 230mm native focal length, it reaches 460mm at 20x optical-quality zoom — and this was made possible through OPPO’s pioneering Quintuple Prism Reflection Periscope Structure, a design that optimizes internal space while maintaining the necessary light path for extraordinary long-range clarity.

The sensor itself is 1/2.75 inches, paired with a DSLR-grade f/3.5 aperture. When shooting distant architecture or mountain ridges, the compression effect from a 230mm focal length produces a noticeably different aesthetic than what most mobile telephoto cameras offer. In practical terms, this focal length is more useful for isolating distant subjects than for everyday photography, but it can produce images that are difficult to replicate with shorter smartphone telephoto lenses. The Find X9 Ultra also supports up to 120x digital zoom, though optical-quality results are rated up to 20x.

Compare this to the Find X9s, which uses a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto at just 75mm — useful for portraits, but nowhere near the same reach. The Find X9 Pro and standard Find X9 do not carry this 10x periscope configuration at all. For users prioritizing extreme optical reach, this 10x periscope configuration clearly separates the Find X9 Ultra from the rest of the Find X9 lineup.

Dual 200MP and the Hi-Res Mode

Both the main camera and the 3x portrait telephoto on the OPPO Find X9 Ultra are rated at 200MP. Advanced multi-frame fusion allows the phone to produce 200MP captures at both 23mm and 70mm focal lengths. The main sensor, specifically the 1/1.12″ Sony unit with an f/1.5 aperture, also brings what OPPO calls “Simultaneous Triple Exposure” for higher dynamic range in a single capture.

The availability of a 200MP Hi-Res mode at 70mm remains relatively uncommon among Android flagships and may appeal to users who frequently crop images while retaining fine detail. Having that resolution at portrait range opens up significant cropping flexibility, which matters when shooting detailed architectural textures or capturing subjects at a distance where the 10x is too compressed.

Hasselblad’s Contribution

OPPO attributes several imaging characteristics of the Find X9 Ultra to its partnership with Hasselblad, particularly in areas such as color tuning and image rendering. The Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution uses what OPPO describes as “full-link original colour ProXDR” to render tones without the heavy-handed saturation processing common in mobile photography. Hasselblad Nature Tonality introduces tonal curves that aim to replicate film-like depth in highlights and shadows, tuned to avoid harsh clipping.

The New-Generation Hasselblad Master Mode gives manual control over ISO, shutter speed, and focus, with RAW MAX support. The Hasselblad XPAN mode recreates the panoramic shooting style and interface associated with the classic XPAN film camera, offering a distinctive cinematic shooting experience.

The True Color Camera adds 24-channel spectral sensor data alongside 15EV dynamic range, continuously adjusting for shifting color temperatures across all four lenses.

Worth Knowing

The 7050mAh battery should be sufficient for a full day of photography and video recording for most users, while 100W charging helps reduce downtime between sessions.

The monochrome lens at 3.2MP is noticeably lower resolution than the other sensors. It functions as a color correction and detail-enhancing unit rather than a standalone shooting lens.

The Find X9s in the same series comes in at a slimmer 7.99mm profile with a flat 6.59-inch display, making it lighter for everyday carry. Compared with the slimmer Find X9s, the Find X9 Ultra prioritizes camera hardware over portability, resulting in a larger and heavier device.

Bottom Line

The OPPO Find X9 Ultra distinguishes itself primarily through its camera system, particularly the long-range 10x telephoto lens and dual 200MP sensors. The inclusion of a dedicated 10x periscope telephoto remains uncommon among current flagship smartphones. The dual 200MP configuration at two different focal lengths gives shooters flexibility that most phones do not offer. The Hasselblad partnership contributes measurably to the color science side.

For users who prioritize optical zoom range and camera versatility, the Find X9 Ultra offers capabilities that go beyond those available on the Find X9s and other models in the series.

The trade-off, however, is a larger camera module and a less compact design than other models in the Find X9 series.
