Park Plaza Arena Hotel – Pula, Croatia

It’s never too late to book your summer holiday and with flights lower than ever, you have no excuse! The only problem that you will encounter is picking that perfect holiday destination. Have a young family? Looking for a romantic getaway? Or maybe you’re in need of a retreat with your friends? Well, at House of Coco we’ve researched the perfect place for you, a haven that encompasses all of the above and much, much more.

PPHE Hotel Group, operator of the Park Plaza® Hotels & Resorts brand in Europe, opened the doors to its fifth hotel in Croatia under the contemporary brand on the 25th May 2015.

Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts has extensively renovated, extended and re-branded the existing property, Hotel Park, in collaboration with Croatian hospitality partner Arenaturist. Park Plaza Arena Pula is located within the Verudela resort, close to Park Plaza Verudela Pula in the historical, coastal city of Pula.

Surrounded by an aromatic pine forest and lush Mediterranean vegetation on the Verudela Peninsula, Park Plaza Arena Pula (formerly the Hotel Park) is a tranquil retreat on the beautiful Adriatic coast. Just minutes from the historic city of Pula, the largest city in Istria, the hotel offers a wide choice of sport facilities and entertainment and is ideal for couples and families alike.

With 175 contemporary guest rooms spread across five floors, the fully refurbished Park Plaza Arena Pula, opened in Spring 2015, offers the latest in-room amenities, including complimentary WiFi, air-conditioning and LCD TV. Many guest rooms have a private balcony and the hotel is entirely smoke-free. Two of the hotels largest rooms offer a hot-tub on the balcony overlooking the breathtaking Adriatic coast – perfect for those romantic sunsets!

Creative workshops are available every day and the hotel’s health and wellness centre combines relaxing treatments with energising workouts. The two sea water swimming pools, with plenty of sports activities, are perfect for families. Guests choosing Park Plaza Arena Pula can enjoy the Arena Activities A2 Club throughout the day, with a variety of sports, dance workshops and creative activities on offer.

Restaurants and Bars;

Park Plaza Arena Pula’s main restaurant specialises in homemade traditional and Istrian cuisine which blends the freshest local ingredients and includes gluten-free alternatives. The hotel’s aperitif bar, outdoor terrace and lounge create a welcoming ambience from which to watch the sunset. A short stroll leads to the lively Verudela Avenue, home to an Espressamente Illy café and Champagne Bar, as well as a host of shops and designer boutiques.

Nearby towns and villages are easily accessible by bus and car, so you’ll never fall short of possibilities for a delicious Istrian meal!

Sports and Recreation;

Park Plaza Arena Pula is a sport lover’s paradise, with outstanding facilities within the hotel grounds and along the neighbouring coastline. The nearby Park Plaza Histria Pula offers a fully equipped sports centre includes 18 tennis courts and two five-a-side football pitches, and guests can also try their hand at handball, basketball, volleyball and mini-golf. Guests can hire a bicycle and explore the rugged coastline by following customised bike trails, while the nearby watersports and diving centre is ideal for rowing, kite-surfing, kayaking, jet-surfing and scuba diving. And just 50 metres inland, the hotel’s two sea water outdoor swimming pools offer a safe environment for families, while the sundrenched terrace is the ideal place to while away a relaxing afternoon.

A daily programme of sports activities and creative workshops is available by the pool and at the nearby Park Plaza Verudela Pula Resort, which is also home to the thrilling Artur’s World Kids and Teens Club.

The Perfect Location;

With Roman architecture at its heart, Pula is one of Croatia’s most striking cities. The beautifully preserved amphitheatre doubles as a concert venue, while a short bus ride away through fragrant pine trees lies the protected cape of Kamenjak.

Park Plaza Arena Pula is located in a lush pine forest setting on the pristine Adriatic coast, with direct beach access from the hotel. The local name for the beach is ‘Hawaii Beach’ because of its deep blue and shallow waters. The nearby coastline includes several other rocky beaches and pebbly coves and, at times, attracts friendly dolphins and monk seals.

The historic and charming city of Pula is less than five kilometres away, with a local bus network offering regular connections to Pula and other local towns and villages. Pula International Airport is ten kilometres from the hotel.

The lively Verudela Avenue, only a short stroll away, is home to various dining options, Espressamente Illy as well as a host of shops and designer boutiques is also available. Along the peninsula there are many walks through parks and along the seaside promenade.
