Las Vegas

The most obvious choice of places to visit when in Nevada is the glamorous city of Las Vegas. Termed the world’s entertainment capital, Las Vegas is truly a sight to behold. There are enormous caverns to explore, which can take all day and is a frightening but exciting experience. There are lakes and creeks in Great Basin National Park, which add life to the park and offer opportunities for water-based activities. If you are not faint of heart, you can head underground with the ranger and explore the gorgeous stones.

Lake Mead National Recreation Area/Hoover Dam

Hoover Dam is the most compelling attraction at Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Therefore, finding a reputable company that offers Hoover Dam tours from Las Vegas is an excellent idea for a hassle-free experience. The scenic routes along Lake Tahoe will make for an exhilarating drive. Many people throng the Lake during summer to explore the surrounding hiking trails, swim in the water, enjoy sunbathing at the beach, and camp on the many campgrounds.

You can think of Reno as a smaller version of Las Vegas, which is excellent for those who do not particularly like large cities or crowds of people.

There is much to see in Reno for tourists even though it is a small city. You can visit Reno for events like the National Championship Air Races, The Great Reno Balloon Race, and other events. You will find the National Automobile Museum in Reno alongside other interesting museums.

Virginia City

Many western movies are shot in Nevada because it still has a sense of the Old West. No city in Nevada conjures up such feelings of being in a Western as Virginia City. It is a small town near Reno with an incredible atmosphere. The town is reminiscent of 19th century America where everyone went west for the gold rush. There are even saloons and people wearing old clothes, precisely like in the movies. You should visit Virginia City, especially if you are a fan of westerns.

Valley of Fire State Park

Places That You Should Visit When in Nevada
